Speeding and drugs..I wonder how many drivers who use 8th Ave between Main Street and Rte 35 as if it was a race way are drunk or high? Pedestrians using the 8th Ave crosswalk are defenseless.
I use that crosswalk everyday. As I am in the middle of the crosswalk drivers do not make a full stop..so there I am in the middle wondering are they going to stop or run me over. It has been 5 months since the near fatal accident on 8th Ave. Belmar administration says they are working on a design..obviously it is not an urgent matter to them..
Thankfully they got the person. Hope this isn’t an average occurance in Belmar >>>>or anywhere
#1 – A bit of advice about the intersection of Main St. and 8th Ave. Don’t cross at the intersection. Jwalk between 9th and 8th, Main and E St., 7th and 8th & Main and Rt.35 (at the workout club). This way, you only have to worry about traffic going two ways (there’s always a break that allows you time to cross and no traffic at your back). The biggest problem is cars at your back making turns. The last object drivers see anymore is a person afoot. I consider myself an “expert” on this subject but that doesn’t mean I won’t be run down either. It just means I’ve never been run over in 70+ years of walking.

It wasn’t even a BENNY, just a good old BELMAR RESIDENT…. LOL…. Only a total LOSER would embark on an act of cowardly behavior of this level…..

#1-did you just move to NJ???? It’s a county/state road where they are looking into moving crosswalks…..this state doesn’t move quickly with anything. The town cannot just move crosswalks whenever they feel like!
#9… I am disgusted by this incident. But beware, there are many more Belmar residents just like this LOSER… Guess the truth hurts….
#11 Not nearly as many that come from place like Bayonne and trash the town all summer. Degenerates
In every town there are young guys like this along with the young women of their ilk. So these unfortunate incidents are going to happen. There’s no stopping it.
Summer Timer why are you so sensitive? It’s a horrible crime that was committed. People from all walks of life do theses things- rich, poor, black, white,etc. If you feel that Belmar has plenty of ‘losers’ like this guy, why on earth would you choose to live here?
This won’t be popular, but we also live in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty.
Yeah, Summer Timer why do you come here if the actual residents of this town appall you so much? You seem to enjoy insulting us. Go take your opinions and bad attitude elsewhere. We don’t want you.
#14 – Every town has plenty of losers. In that so many young people have been trained throughout their lives to be losers, why is anyone surprised at such things? This is an everyday occurrence everywhere in our nation now in one form or another. The answer is to stop training people from birth to be losers and things will change for the better. But at this point, all those who might be able to help the situation aren’t allowed into positions of authority in our nation. We have successfully taught that 2+2 = 97.42 or any other number you want other than 4. Live with what we have or change your ways.
