How will Merry Makers’ Cruz CafĂ© serve their food on the beach as they illegally solicit business? Will Fishermans Den be allowed to continue selling plastic lures? Are beach badges still going to be plastic? Where do we stop? I suggest he spend more time trying to figure out why people are being needlessly killed in the country from guns and drugs. Priorities in life?? Somebody needs a re-set.

Just great… now what will I pick up my dog’s business with? Too much government in this town. What next, will they ban my large Coffee with sugar and cream because it’s unhealthy?

#1 – With the King gone and his Jester now on the thrown this favored illegal behavior may not occur this summer. Especially since the Jester will be running for election in November. Maybe some of us can develop a top 10 list of ongoing illegal favors and see if they will be rectified between now and November?

Maybe Belmar can ban stupitity which would lead to all of the council being fired. Oh, and the Business Administrator also.

And who has the time to enforce this crap, the Belmar/So. Belmar Police Dept. Heck, don’t forget they have to patrol the skies for drone violations of the Law and such. I smell a runny egg here. Why not just try and keep up with enforcing laws already on the books? Typical political Democratic thinking, more laws and regulations. Give me back my Freedom to make decisions on my own. Enough already. And while your at it, why not remind people to wash their hands after using the bathroom, perhaps with an automatic audible announcement as they get up off toilet seat. Pay the bathroom attendants a little more money to enforce it by writing summonses.

I stopped for bagels to bring to my office at Belmar Bagel…and was given a cloth bag on behalf of the environmental commission. The lady working there told me about the ban. I guess the retailers have been warned.

I typically find myself siding with the commenters of this website. However, it seems this issue has brought out how partisan everything has become in town. Brennan proposing this has clouded the judgement of most. At the end of the day, this is designed to reduce waste and trash throughout the town. How anyone can oppose that baffles me.

How about enforcing the picking up of dog poop? An exception can be made for those bags in the dispensers by the lake. I don’t like to walk near the lake at night as I don’t want to step in the poop there.

The amount of plastic bags in the river, lakes and ocean is disgusting. Not only grocery stores use these bags. Every retail store and restaurant does. Take a walk on the beach or around the river. Disgusting amounts of plastic and trash, not only is it terrible for the environment but its very unsightly. “Beautiful Sea” indeed. Very opposed to this council but don’t think this is a bad thing.

I don’t think plastic bags are the problem, the problem is the people who don’t dispose of them properly. Every big food store has a bin in the front of the store to recycle your used plastic bags. It always boils down to PEOPLE who are just too lazy to do the right thing or just don’t care.

Same could be said for dog owners who don’t pick up after their dogs who shit on the beach or boardwalk. 5% of the people ruin it for the 95% who do.

Dave – This can easylie be handled. If people go back to smoking non-filter cigarettes the litter problem will disappear.

#26- Stop giving this council more ideas to further restrict your Freedoms. Banning the smoking of filtered cigarettes in Belmar could lead to reusable toilet paper in beach trailers, or the come back of the bidet.
