Fairly common. Usually a filing protocol mistake. This isn’t a victory for Doherty. Merely delays the case. This can happen as many as 4-5 times before a lawsuit gets to court. Just passing along information for those unfamiliar with law.
Doherty is “disturbed” by the slandering of the police department? What about his slandering and false allegations of our experienced, veteran lifeguards that he’s firing for no apparent reason. If you think the taxpayers have already spent/wasted thousands of dollars on this lawsuit wait till all the lifeguards file theirs. I truly feel sorry for the taxpayers of Belmar for having such an arrogant loser like Doherty for a mayor.
“It’s hard enough in Law Enforcement nowadays…”???? Once again talking out of both sides of his rear end. So it was OK to lay off 8 Officers two years ago, and to ask 24 Officers to do the same job that 30 Officers once did. So who’s really making it HARD.

Happened with Broadco’s suit against Belmar. They re-filed and they won over $250,000 in the end.

Don’t worry…………..They will win a handsome sum in a few years…
#3, Plus legal fees and Court costs, considered all caused by the cheats.
The total was $259,000 I believe.
Again, inappropriate glee against Lifeguards.
