Discussed in front of the Zoning Board
Part 1:
Part 2:
Fortunately my viewers have been saved from even more of that because the camcorder ran out of space.
For those of you who are too lazy to sit through the tapes a witness give a brief account:
Ok so….,10th ave voted down because of density on to small a lot. The ordinance says cluster zoning the lot must have 14 thousand square feet. They only have 11000. Also ordinance says vertical townhouses the we’re trying to put horizontal condos.Unanimous no vote.12th ave postponed again because they have to renotify neighbors and the board members weren’t given changes until right before meeting. That is now being heard July 25. (Special hearing) at 7The other 15th is being heard July 26 as of now. They are really pushing it. The height is crazy the amount of units is nuts. No parking etc
Developers ♥ Belmar.
Here are their latest love letters.
I know they love us and all but I think they’re asking for quite a lot.

Late July hearing, hoping people are too busy with summer to attend and protest.
More evidence of the old “wear ’em down” technique, creating frustration by ignoring technicalities and hoping they get away with that. I hope the zoning board lives up to their purpose, i.e., defend and enforce the local ordinances and not bend rules for developers and “buddies”. Enough damage has been done in town; now the task is to undo, or at least stop, what the former mayor and certain council members have laid upon the residents for their own political gain (campaign contributions, etc., sometimes through pass-through techniques, allegedly.)
The good news is there were more people at Thursday’s zoning meeting then last time. Looked at least 300, spilling out onto street.
It seems this issue of overdevelopment is galvanizing the residents. Both “sides” seem united and involved.
I believe the delays are increasing the participation of the public!!
Latest condo application once again is fuzzy on the height. Stating 48.5 ft in height (approx.). What is the height with parapet? Single family neighborhoods= 35 ft height max. New meeting for 12th. Ave. Is the 25th. Meeting for 14th. Ave. Is the 26th. Your block could be next.
Thankful the north side is helping the south side to unite our town , Thankful Republicans, Democrats and Independents are all together. This is the Belmar we can be proud of.
