As the election comes closer upon us, the candidates’ true colors come out. Tom Brennan pushed the replacement of plastic grocery bags with recycled multiple use bags. A noble effort, but it appears it was more a public relations effort, since he’s up for re-election, rather than an earnest interest in the environment. If the environment was of utmost importance to Mr. Brennan, I would have thought that he would agree with Mr. Joshua Vallario NOT to use lawn signs since they truly pollute the environment and are only used for one month. Again, was this just seizing the opportunity to be in the public eye? If Mr. Brennan cannot uphold his own professed values when it comes to environmental issues, how can we expect him to uphold the values and interests of the residents of Belmar on the things that really matter to them? We need a new voice in Belmar. Josh Vallario should be that voice.

Brennan is not a serious man. All the talk of the environment is merely schtick to him. Just a means to give himself a bit of relevance – nothing more.
Sorry, but the lawn sign issue is just a distraction. I am waiting to review the 29 Days Pre-Election Contribution Filing for both candidates which are now past due. Like they say, “follow the money”.
Bravo #2, this is a distraction from discussing any true issues or a persons ability. Signs have been around local politics forever and now some unknown candidate makes a rare appearance at the borough council meeting to unvail his great environment savings measure. Come on now, why are you the better person for the job?
Proof is in the printing of the lawn signs. You either stand by your principles or you don’t. Recycling is our future.

#2, Garbage bag forced recycling ala’ “in California” (the bankrupt state), recyle this and recycle that was the obscuring, cover of darkness, only media grabbing issue that Brennran with for at least 2 Council meetings. He was Belmar’s Garbage Bannerman so his principles should be probed if indeed that rhetoric was genuine.
BTW, check his Facebook page for a total trashing of Christopher Columbus.
Mr. Brennan needs to take classes on history. Columbus was the start of immigration to this country. Many of the immigrants came with diseases which spread here and killed many, yet they (liberals) want unlimited immigration without knowing if they carry diseases including mental illness.
Funny how they want intense backround checks of American citizens who want to buy guns but they would let people people come here from some of the worst countries on earth with no backround check at all.
#7. First , the most common joining of two nationalities in marriage in the U.S. is between an Italian-American and an Irish-American. A very stupid and not politically astute post for an Irish-American politician. Add to this Democrat Ken Pringle “guido” comment that made national news years back and you have the true picture of Democrats and their prejudice. Like Harvey Weinstein, let the prominent Italian-American Belmar Democrats give him a pass.

I have successfully managed very large construction and technology projects for the largest financial firms in the world. I have worked with state and municipal governments for tax abatement programs, DOT, have managed a large global staff of data center engineers, managed engineering and construction teams, built a successful business during nights and weekend through just plain old hard work and creativity.
I can help make better decisions in regard to the development efforts and the business deals that are coming before our council – simply, I just have more of the experience that is necessary to do the job. Seems pretty logical, no?

How far thus blog has fallen. At one time the posts contained substance regarding candidates. Now we have lawn sign arguments. I agree, write in James Bean.
How humiliating this must be for James Bean.
Trust me Jim is not humiliated. He was not “humiliated” even in his loss to Mad Matt in 2014. When we write him in this November he will humbly accept the compliment. That’s who Jim Bean is, a gentleman, a friend, a great dad, a great husband and a reminder that we can do better.

Boy Scout soliciting all over Belmar for food drive.. The manner in which it is promoted irks me. No face to face contact with homeowners…collect as many bags as possible. Is this a contest? God forbid if the scouts do not get a badge! Of all days, pick up is Nov. 11th…It would be fitting to visit a vet with a bag of nonperishable food. Just my thought.
