Make Your Nominations…

And then vote for them.

Use the comments section to nominate people you would like to be the next Councilperson.  When we get 4 or 5 names in I will add them to the poll and activate it.  As more names come in I will continually add them to the poll.  Of course if the people you like are already up on the poll then you should just vote for them.

You can nominate more than one person if you choose and, like with last week’s poll, you can vote for your top 3 choices.  Make all your selections first and then click “Vote”.

Looks like a lot of people would like to see Pat Wann as our candidate.
I voted for Pat Wann. She can speak for herself when it comes to why she would like to run. When we get down to the nitty gritty of selecting a candidate listen with an open mind.

thank you for your votes. I’m a woman who’s lived in Belmar for 40 years. I raised my children here. This was a town where your political party didn’t matter, we all got along. Then Matt and his gang drove a wedge between us. He called us names, plunged us into debt, sold us out to Chefs, Merrimakers, and anyone else he could. He’s disrespectful to residents at council meetings. The dismantling of our wonderful lifeguards was the last straw. I’m retired and I’m fed up. I’m throwing my hat in the ring and I’m running. As far as being rigged, haven’t we had enough of that, let’s get our town back.

Thanks # 16. That article shows that Pat Wann was opposed to the two story pavillions, wanted the dune structure we were promised but never got and was a person who walked the streets of Belmar gathering signatures on Petitions.
That for me is a positive.

Thank you to anyone who has expressed support. Pat Wann is a long time resident of Belmar and if she is willing to run this year I throw my full support behind her. She has tirelessly advocated for her neighborhood and would do the same for the entire town. She is decent and respectful something we need at our council meetings. She is not influenced or conflicted by “her political career”. I believe she would be transparent and open minded, her presence on the council would be the refreshing change we desperately need! Pat will give us our town back.

And 6 years later we still don’t have any dunes even after the monster catering hall was built on my dimes and yours. We begged to be allowed to follow Bradley Beach’s excellent, proven example utilizing Christmas trees but NI that was Vetoed by the Mayor immediately after our request for consideration. Another storm is brewing and is predicted to hit us this week folks. Respect the Ocean especially if you can’t read the tidal charts.

Public safety in Belmar is secondary to personal ambition and private deals for buddies. The so-called safety pavilion? What’s up with that? The Merry Maker Pavilion has been up and running first and foremost. Who was at the opening of the misnamed Taylor Pavilion (ha ha, a misnomer if there is one!)? Politicians, of course. The town has been overtaken by a yuppie creep and his cronies. Don’t be fooled by the fixture called Magovern, his light bulb is burned out.

Seems like Wann knew what she was talking about when she spoke to Mulshine and it’s “Dunes baby Dunes”, a viable SOLUTION to eventual, predicted tidal erosion at the beach not just relying on questionable insurance reimbursements.

#29. I believe the context of that quote was that we should build the dune system to protect the boardwalk that we keep rebuilding after all the hurricanes we have had. The dune system that was promised and never delivered.

35 and 34. The dunes Pat referred to in that August 2013 article was not about the copying of Bradley nor what they do today. Belmar should anchor Dune grasses and beach fauna and foliage like many other local beaches that were not harmed during nor’easters.

Much water damage sustained in Belmar over many storms can be attributed to homes being built on underground springs together Lake and Ocean rise.
