Key numbers in the 2019 budget:
Salaries and wages rise by about $343,000 increase to $5,416,156, a 15% increase.
Police and Firemen’s Retirement System payments rise by nearly $100,000, from about $465,500 in 2018 to about $563,000 this year.
Legal services are set to rise by $225,000, from $125,000 to $350,000 as the borough is facing several lawsuits filed during Doherty’s tenure.

So where are the budget cuts????? This is a sham. The present admin are blaming former M and C and refuse to make cuts. I suggest we fire/cut these M and C. They can take their highly paid cronies with them. Vote in new people, AGAIN. Till someone understands they need to do the right thing and make CUTS. All depts. are overpaid and overstaffed. Laying them off now will do them a favor as the job market is very strong and they will have no problem finding another job.

For starters I would sell the Marina along with it’s naming rights. It’s been a money loser for decades. I would also end the Tourism Commission and the SID. And I would sue Maser for at least a couple million dollars.

Didn’t Lake Como face a 20% tax hike and they outsourced their Police. They’re taxes actually went down! We should do the same. The cops are all over paid and the Mayor does nothing about the unlimited Overtime and spending. Our cops don’t do anything anyway. They started this “Community Policing” BS to make it look like they deserve those high salaries. Not to mention that they get FREE Medical insurance when they retire !!!

The PD overtime is still out of control. Patorl and Special Officers need Sergeants on OT to supervise, then someone has to supervise the Sergeants, so a Lieutenant has to come in on OT, but then the Lieutenant has to be supervised, so Captain has to come in on overtime AND then the Chief comes in to supervise the whole BS OT scam $$$. There is NO WAY all that OT is from two bars in the Summer or even year round.
