Conflict of Interest law cut up.
I finally got around to doing this for you folks. Since the new ordinance was re-done as not to indicate the changes with the traditional strikeouts and underlines, I had to compare the current law line by line with the introduced (“introduced” = “as good as passed”) new ordinance. I hope you all appreciate it.
This is our current Conflict of Interest law. Deletions are highlighted in yellow. Each page can be clicked on to be seen a little larger.
There was no new language added to the ordinance.
*In paragraph 2 above, “$0” was changed to “$300”.
You know to me, seeing the mayor remove restrictions on fundraising for county elections…now that he’s in one…seems like a conflict of interest right there.

Seems you may be correct. Let’s not have any restrictions. Every man/women for themselves. Grab whatever you can. The country is going to hell.
WoW. Amazing how they can re-write an ordinance for one person. I would love to hear Brian try to explain why he voted for these changes, perhaps by now he has had time to read and digest them. Someone please pressure the puppets for an explanation. Weren’t these prior restrictions written for a reason? Have they not worked? Pope Matt is re-writing the bible.
WoW , no wonder our mayor hung up on the Coast Star when asked about this issue.

It’s a ruse to see if opposition will be flooded with special interest money before Presidential Election.
There is a method to this madness.
Before it hamstrung the insurgent.
Thank you Dave that was a difficult job which you undertook for us, the residents of Belmar. As usual you are more of a mayor than Doherty who does not answer hard questions, hangs up on reporters and always ridicules the public if there is any opposition. Seems like a copy of the ordinance showing the exact changes should be sent to every council member. Maybe now they can understand how clearly this new pay to play ordinance benefits the mayor directly
They can always read the blog if they want to.
Talk is cheap- I have a petition.
Referencing the mayor’s response to a questioner at the last meeting, regarding the pay to play changes, that Mr. Northgrave does not answer questions from the public, as I recall, why is taxpayer money used to pay his fees/salary? Do the mayor and council members have a special fund to pay him for counsel to them, exclusively? Why should taxpayers have to hire their own lawyers to translate legalese that applies to matters that one way or another, affect them? More elitism from the dais gang.
C’mon…puppets do not read.
When I read today about the mayor of a small shore community hanging up on a reporter for a small shore community newspapers- I thought
of an OPININION POLL possible for this blog.
Why is the Mayor of Belmar on Edge, Testy, Rude to people?. Now that is a poll I’d weigh in on.
All of the above?
NO FAIR!
Seems like Belmar Mayor has Trump/Christie temperament of being rude to reporters or anyone that does not agree with or praise them. Sad. My thanks also to Dave.
MULSHINE’S COMING HOME SOON TOO.
I hope the mayor is stupid enough to try to run some of the campaign contributions through Belmar so the County doesn’t know what is going where for what. There has to be something wrong with the whole mess.
Now this would be fun to petition.
To petition or not to petition THAT is the question.
What do you think folks?
I’m in
Where do I sign
Yes !
Any media exposure negative or positive brings name recognition to the mouths of the unwashed who will do anything for a drink or drug. Mindless entertainment
Wouldnt a conflict of intrest for the mayor be when he is the boss of a boro employee and the builds a house for his ex wife in town then forces the employee to resign. Isnt that a conflict of intrest when his intrest sould be the employee and not the employees ex wife
