From what I witnessed today, I don’t know how the crowds will be controlled this summer. It’s sad that a lot of people don’t get it. Spend 15 minutes in the ICU at JSUMC. How do you go home to your parents, elderly grandparents, compromised siblings? It’s going to be a long summer.
Why do we need to salute nurses and doctors who are getting paid? When I signed up to be a ditch digger, I never expected that I would encounter sick people. Thus I get paid the same, pandemic or not.
I think its ludicrous to blame the mayor and council for people from all over wanting to come towards the ocean for some fresh air after being couped up for weeks. You more apt to catch covid 19 at the grocery store than you are strolling the beach practicing social distancing. People need to be responsible for their own actions. If you dont feel safe coming out then stay home. That’s your choice as an American.
#1 – I walked with my sandwich board signs yesterday stating my in opposition to the lockdown. I didn’t know what people would think. The reaction was overwhelmingly in my favor. People were incredibly fed up and angry with this shutdown and want it all ended. Certainly, there were a few who opposed me, but they were in the decided minority.
Evolve or devolve. By denying that life as we have known it may not return, many seem willing to sacrifice themselves upon the pyres of stupidity or of hope. A global population count in a year may tell. I would bet upon a huge decrease in humans.
I have to admit, I got consumed by the media hype of coronavirus….. Everyone has to access their own situation and move on with daily living….. This country will be destroyed for the youth of America if we dont put this pandemic behind us and move forward using common sense…
#12 – I’ve always wondered about these gyms. Exercise is free. All you have to do is set up some sort of regimen and follow it and whatever you do, stay away from that dumb weight training. All a man should to do to stay in reasonable shape is pullups, situps, and some running – I’d say 5 miles a day is okay. No need to pay someone for membership in a gym.
#14 if people want to join a gym, why do you care? maybe they enjoy working out in groups, with a trainer so they do their exercises properly or maybe they do not have the space in their homes for the equipment. Why do you always find something negative to say about everything.
At some point life will need to resume, people will be allowed to do things again practicing common sense and social distancing perhaps and step by step. If you feel you are to vulnerable to step outside or you cant be an adult and practice social distancing then stay home.
I think everyone needs to work together to figure out good steps to resuming life and getting out at some point, even if its baby steps. Its going to take time but being unreasonable thinking that come july people will not be flocking to the shore one way or another is likely not going to happen. Or are some people just trying to use this as an effort to keep people out of belmar so only residents can enjoy the summertime here at the Jersey Shore, I suspect some people are thinking that way which is very sad especially for the local small businesses, and Im sure these will be the same people out with pitchforks when the taxes need to be increased again because there was not summer income to the Borough. Its only the end on April, its to early to predict July of even June, the data and science needs to be evaluated before making these types of decisions, and life is only going back step by step. everyone stay calm, find peace one day at a time.
#16… I have not been to Belmar nor do I plan on going to my home until officals give the ok…. I even hire a landscaper to care for my yard considering I will follow the rules…
#15… The Silent Generation and Baby Boomers created 25 TRILLION in debt for the youth of America to deal with… Both those generation will go down in history as greedy and they continue to use a government credit card they will not be around to pay….
#10 maybe the human population count will show an increase and a boom of babies being born nine months from now…. Just a more positive thought for the day I heard someone say the term “corona babies” the other day

It’s a mess and this Mayor and Council are to weak to keep our town safe. Dopes, every single one of them.

How can a gym be open one block from police headquarters this is illegal.
good time for Belmar to monetize public parking spaces using pay-by-plate or similar tech
#1. Have you been to the JSMC ICU. Please share?
#3. I can’t believe you so mean? Way above average nasty statement

#5 the gym isn’t open. they are doing online workouts and the members were borrowing equipment.
Belmar’s jumped on the permit only parking band wagon. They’ll want those out of towners dollars soon enough though won’t they. Big mistake!!

#11 Its the youth of America that is destroying this country today.
Oh a change of tune from #11. Someone must want to use their second home against the orders of their beloved elected state officials…..

#19 birth control, I doubt it, the 1970s were a few years ago.
Remember South Pacific 1947 opening shocked Americans with
“You have to be taught”.
#19 Yeah, I thought of that, like 9 months after the 1977 blackout in NYC.
