Please get this info out to as many as you can. It very important to email the Governor’s office and call Beck’s office and let her know. Very important!
I am forwarding this information to all tavern owners, residents I know would be affected and town officials in neighboring towns that would be affected.
Please help with a simple call and ALSO an email or forward your email to the Governor’s office asking to VETO this bill.
A1850 barely passed and Senator Beck, who’s husband owns a liquor license in Highlands was pretty much the determining factor.
.
Last year
48 yes in Assembly
30 yes in Senate
.
This year
41 yes
22 yes
.
We got many more NO votes for this in assembly than last year. An Assemblyman from Neptune district voted for it in committee (3-2) then voted NO for it after realizing how it hurts the year round bar owners (Eric Houghtaling)
Belmar residents:
Please forward this out to friends that live in the area by D’Jais also any emails that have been sent now need to go to the Governor’s office like we did last year, especially from residents. This hopefully will be vetoed by the Governor.
Senator Beck voted for it partially because her husband owns Wind and Sea Restaurant in Highlands but also because she thinks it’s not a big deal and that the guys from D’Jais are good guys.
It’s really important we do this right now.

Thank you. I’ve just sent my emails.
Senator Beck: I’m a good gal who has standing in Belmar, pay taxes, provide community support and care for my neighbors and fellow man in general Please, reconsider and ENCOURAGE Governor Christie to VETO extending seasonal liquor licenses for two more months.
What is the time frame for this? Didn’t Senator Beck already vote?
So what can Senator Beck do for the cause now?
Who has Christie’s ear(s)? Dems or GOP?
My own thinking is this isn’t a real big deal. It makes no difference whatsoever to people nowadays about a bar staying open later or not. They have all sorts of ways of getting themselves in trouble. We see it everywhere, constantly. Does anyone think it would matter if the bars closed at 10PM? All that’d do is bring back speakeasies.
Monmouth U party ends in Deal fight. 2.12.17. See APP today. Where do you think the party will go to next? Remember the winter rental animal houses in Belmar? Don’t kid youselves people, you are being used and abused, for what, free drinks and food at the end of summer?
To Jennifer Beck: “as residents understand that the people they elected are not acting on their behalf, that they’ll become more vocal”. Please walk the walk when giving quotes. The Seasonal liquor license 2 months is Egregious to most of Belmar’s residents. Try using your bully pulpit for our residents when you communicate our VETO request to Governor Christie and not that of your friends and “good guys” you refer to at djs.
Why would you want to put people out of work? Belmar thrives on small business – if D’Jais did not bring thousands of people to town every year we would have no summer rentals, no beach badge sales, etc… Belmar would quickly crumble without that establishment – we would have no summer tourists/revenue
#9: sarcasm is always appreciated by we the people. It’s the Ocean for all those who are under the impression that djs is just a beach bar lure and not a NIGHT
10. You go live by Dj’s and then you can talk
Djais owner “Slick Willie” Luddecke calls all the shots – he is the puppet master and ruler of all things Belmar. He must be clicking the heels of his little size six 6 cowboy boots with joy over this
Do you wonder how all the towns and cities at the seashore survive without all the thousands of drunks traveling their streets on foot or by car. Think about it the ocean has been big entertainment for a very long time. It was the bars that came up with the parade to bring money into the town in the winter when it was quiet and peaceful. The families that did visit are not as many as it was because of the nonsense that is allowed to go on in this town. If the town goes under it won’t be the summer visitors that bring it down it will be the people that pay the bills and refuse to any longer.
#13. You ar right; Concise and to the point in your statement. That’s the rest of the story.
