And if you think our country isn’t good enough for everyone to stand for when our national anthem is playing you have no business being on the Council.

Fake news anyone???
Kaepernick is a lousy player. Plain and simple. Tom Brennan is a failure. Plain and simple
And the marketing spin on the backlash press starts on Tom’s page
We all know why he was kneeling. What did the liberal press say when Tim Tebow was kneeling. They mocked him. Tim was thanking God. Kaepernick was mocking the flag. Very simple explanation Shirley’s little background didn’t include what I just said. Hmmmm?
Don’t respect the police that’s fine, but don’t expect them to come running to help you when some thug is trying to carjack your expensive car. Or when your multimillion dollar house is being broken into. Shame on America for giving you the opportunity to live such a rich life. Kaepernick is privileged and should be thankful for what he has. Not disrespect the country that allows him to play a silly game of football and pay him millions to do so.
Oh and shame on Tom Brennan for feeding into such nonsense! No Vote for Tom!!!
Questions…choosing to take a knee is considered disrespectful in many people’s, including my opinion, BUT..1) Is it and are people entitled to this level of free speech in this country (see 1st amendment) and 2) If not, are you expecting the government or your employer to intervene and force people to stand if they choose not to? You are either for or against peaceful expression of free speech (not hate speech), whether you agree with the content or not. It comes with having freedom of speech and the press. Kinda like this blog….
There’s an ocean of difference between legal and respectful. It’s perfectly legal to scream obscenities at a nun, for example, but it’s not something that anyone should ever do or be excused for doing.
Think about how Blue lives matter. Incredible that there is a difference when “HATE SPEECH” doesn’t apply to police being attacked verbally let alone physically.
Equating silently taking a knee during the national anthem to screaming obscenities at a nun is a typical false equivalent statement and go to response you seem to like to use. If you are a real Libertarian and believe in the Bill of Rights, then it makes sense to express support for everyone’s right to peaceful protest (which this is) even if you do not personally agree with their reasons or methods, whether you think it is respectful or not. When it’s for your cause or opinion you seem to defend it.
Not saying it should be illegal. But all sorts of people have all sorts of issues with the way this country is being run, myself included, but they and I still respect this country and would never think of not standing for the song that represents this country. For someone who holds political office and is supposed to be representing us to condone this behavior is disgusting. I do have a right to think it’s disgusting and to express that, right?
Why are you all so surprised? The Democratic Party is no longer the JFK Democrats. These people want to change the constitution to suit their needs, open borders with NO restrictions, water down laws so you free in no time,Large government to take care of you from cradle to grave,no incentive to do it yourself or better yourself, just being downright disrespectful, have you seen the latest Verizon commercial Peterson,Peterson’s wife called by a kid, what happened to Mr and Mrs ??oh husband and husband are more important!
Dave you have shown us that you get what you VOTE for every time you close the curtain and make your selection or complete and sign your Absentee Ballot.
