Not Really The Whole Story

Reprinted with the permission of the Coast Star:

Fortunately a letter by Katrina Clapsis further back in the paper does tell the whole story, the same story she so fabulously told at the October 17 Council meeting:

Thank you, Katrina.

As far as the article goes, it’s a mess. It doesn’t mention none of the dozens of people that travelled here for the scheduled planting on October 15th were able to come back the following Sunday when the tree was actually planted.  People had even come out here from as far away as Germany.  So when Brian says that oh, “we got it all straightened on Monday” that’s total bullshit.  Nothing was straightened out or could be on Monday.  All the pain and hurt was already done and couldn’t be undone.  Also all this talk about “confusion” over a plaque is nonsense.  Carmine told Brian on that Friday that he didn’t want anything about a plaque to delay planting the tree.  But the permission still never came.

It also incorrectly states that I obtained the emails between Brian Magovern and Angela’s sorority sister friend through an OPRA.  In truth they were forwarded to me by Angela DeSanctis and I published them with the permission of the friend.

And I guess the writer is unaware of Matt’s history of contempt for the law when it might stop him from doing something he wants to do and which earned him the nickname “Lawless Matt.”  He also makes no mention of Katrina being forced out of the meeting and threatened with arrest.

Also worth noting is that in the last paragraph Brian states that a tree was planted by a family previously at Silver Lake, but it wasn’t a “memorial tree”, what ever that means.  But wouldn’t it still need a Code Enforcement permit?

Plain and simple there have been trees planted on public property too numerous to name all in this blog but everyone knows where they are located and all on public property.

Brian McGovern is being duplicitous in pretending he doesn’t know about other tree plantings on Belmar Public Properties. This guy’s making you look like a jerk Brian. Stop being his lackey.

Brian doesn’t look like a jerk, he is a total, unequivocal dupe of Doherty, having fallen through the plaque loophole. Typical Doherty spin. He took advantage of Magovern’s ignorance.

Interestingly, this story is written by another person, not the person (a young woman who quit the Coast Star the day after the meeting – 10/18) who attended the meeting.

There is no “get off free” card for Magovern for being stupid. And duplicitous. He was born and reared in Belmar, so what. Tom Rospos of Birdsall lived here and went to jail.

Matt’$ probably happy that his once Mad Dog protector in Belmar looks like a horses arse in his native home. Brian looks so weak doing the mayor’s bidding especially since he pulled off his brother Terry McGovern’s plaque after his leader told him Friday, October 13, 2017, no way to the DeSanctis’ tree planting that Brian himself had scheduled for Sunday, October 15, 2017 without a permit. It was so outrageous that the “crew” needed their attorney to provide a position paper against the planting rather than allow the family to enhance the lake for the public to enJOY.
That’s when Brian should have recognized that Matt set him up big time.

Brian had to pull his deceased brother’s plaque down.

And he’s maintaining his position that the mayor and council did nothing wrong.

    Poor guy.

I heard he asked DPW to pull it out and put it in his driveway. Now Terry Magovern has no plaque either. Happy Matt?

Admin- no clue what the story is but if the DPW went on Magovern’s property and set that plaque up anywhere, it can possibly be theft of services. You can’t use DPW as your own workforce. If they took it down and gave it to him, fine. If they took it down and reset it somewhere on his property, NG.

So I guess the new tree planted at the library last week doesn’t have a permit either. Tisk tisk. Is the mayor going to have that ripped out? Or is the library not considered public or municipal property?I may be incorrect but I believe the woman’s club planted it. Does anyone know?
My neighbor has a tree they planted between the side walk and curb. Public property right? Uh oh.
Sad sad sad state of affairs.
Matt says in this article that no one has gotten a permit since he was mayor. What a joke. No one has gotten a permit ever!
If you or your group planted a tree somewhere in Belmar, did any one care? Did Matt care? No? So now ssk your self why he got involved at all in this instance? Why? All of a sudden he’s the tree police?

Here’s a novel idea. Just plant maple trees. They produce “helicopter” seeds that gently twirl to the ground. Maybe because of the helicopter aspect no permit will be needed.

Check the local laws about door to door soliciting, including stuffing mail boxes. Do not give the scofflaws who place more than one sign on his/her property, a reason to create trouble. About signs on property, one per property and only between the house and the sidewalk – anything else is illegal. The mayor and Mr. Hutchinson, Brennan’s campaign chief, are breaking the law, including many others, especially those with homes on corner properties. So…who is going to enforce the law?
