A new era in Belmar politics but a long lasting effect for the damage he’s done no doubt about that. Between brian and Mark hopefully one of them can right the ship and return Belmar to being run as a legitimate municipal government. Maybe he can take Colleen and acting chief husiman w him to insulate him. Pretty sad a grown unemployed man can’t get a job without his wife getting it for him. Wonder how long he will last

Well, the “hit and run” (doing damage by bad decisions then hopefully leaving the scene to let someone else clean up the mess) mayor will be in the appropriate department. I’ll betcha he does not resign as mayor.

Well, so much for teaching your kids that hard work will get you far in life. This suck axx hasn’t put in a hard days work in years. How on earth does he look himself in the mirror every day, only to see a loser that sold his soul. Disgusting that this idiot gets (NOT EARNS) a $200k job, pension, and company car on your dime with absolutely NO experience.

To #14 and many others condemning Matt D, get your facts correct ! Your listed salary is in-correct, and alot less I might add, he contributes to his pension, and is on call 24 hours a day, so like many people in that situation he gets the use of a “company car” during his employment.

#21 Tell us who else gets a free car(24 hrs) working for the state. Also he does contribute to his pension. However he and many others will do very well if the state does not declare bankruptcy. He gets free health care also. He knows nothing about motor vehicles. Can’t even park in a proper spot.

#23 There are many state employees who have access to a state owned motor vehicle, it all depends on the job description and duties. Additionally it is my understanding that at that level he would not be a member of the traditional public employee pension system. Further more he will not get FREE health care. Please people check your facts before your pronouncements.
    Thank you

To #21 and many other naïve people of Belmar. The point is the guy got a state job valued close to $200k based not on his credentials (he has NO, NILCH, NADA) but solely by POLITICS. POLITICS , on the true backs of the Belmar resident’s. He sold out the assets of this town for his own gain. Gave away prime space at the Marina on the cheap, gave away prime space on the beach c/o Taylor Pavilion paid for by the residents, on the cheap, sold off town properties on the cheap, whored out the Police,Fire,Forst Aid, on the cheap, attempting to sell our airways, WiFi beach, on the cheap…. and so on and so on. All while standing on the boardwalk giving his live appearances on TV news shows. Go drink some more kool aid.

Ladies and Gentlemen. First of all, we’re not even sure yet Matt has been given this prize/office. So let’s slow down a bit. Also, if he has indeed won this position we all should hold our heads up with pride in his “achievement.” Can you imagine all the slackers in the entire state he had to beat out for this plumb? It mustn’t have been easy to “win” out over that August field of malingerers. But after all that he came away with the laurel wreath of slackerdom. Let’s pray he has indeed won and will be gone.

Take the $140,192.00 multiply by 1.3 and you get $182,249.60 This includes yearly total costs to taxpayers. At least this is what my son says. He is a truck driver.

Correct Old Man, Add to that a state car at 80 miles per day, value at about $9.6k/year, and also I’m sure a negotiated raise on top of that $140,192.00, and you are pushing $200k. Case settled Mr. Druz and “many other” naïve citizens.
