The stupid ass berms configuration blew sand all over the Ocean Avenue. The only exception was those streets without the stupid ass berms.
#1 And the berms have been breached in multiple locations.
It’s called “How do we guarantee future overtime, sweeping sand”. Anyone see Chief cone-man out there making $100 an hour doing nothing. Pack it in dude, your just got your time in the system, ride off into the yonder.
Maybe the “Queen of Mean” can get a broom and besides riding off into the sunset with it ,start pushing the sand back onto the beach where it belongs. It was because of her brilliant idea of building the sand berms is why the boardwalk and Ocean Ave are filled with sand. Hopefully her days are numbered. Drain the swamp of all who are complicit with her actions.
In our town unknown people come in do jobs that fall apart and we do not hear about it and it stays unnoticed. If our beaches are threatened why are we not bringing in an expert that can tell us what we should do to save the
beaches and not loose them or the town???
2, of course the berms were breached, breached by the human trying to get to the beach in the Warm, most beautiful time of the year.
Stupid ass berms blocked our Ocean for over a month.
My sister, Colleen, know exactly what she’s doing when it comes to environmental and civic engineering! How dare anyone question her authority on the dunes. They are the best thing to protect our beachfront assets!
I’m voting Republican just to get rid of the berms. Those berms just started appearing in the last 5 years under this admin. Friends from Carolina visited and thought it was dunmbest idea ever. I was embarrassed.
Seriously, who’s idea was the berms?
Also how does one get access to the Spring lake beach pool. Must one be a resident?

Those Ocean berms have caused beach fouling, erosion and rip tides. Who will take the blame? We are subject to fines or worse.

#15…are you asking me or “colleen’s Sister”? I am not a minor, and I previously worked for the town, so I only write the truths that I have experienced.
The Dpw Wet Sand blowers up on the Boardwalk this weekend really took the cake! But a fleet of Push Brooms for God’s sake. Works like a charm. No Worker’s Compensation Claims for hearing loss, back pain and Kidney ailments either. Next thing you know they will be told to start digging out the sand out under the Boardwalk to pile it into the stupid ass berms.
Drive up Ocean Ave. Where the berms were constructed, there is sand everywhere. All over the boardwalk and all over the street. Its a mess. Where the berms were not constructed, the boardwalk and street are clear. Get rid of those horrendous sand mounds. They are causing more damage than they are preventing for Ocean Ave residents.
A proper dune system, with something to catch sand (aka rooted grass, plants and properly angled dune fencing) would have mitigated the impacts of the storm event this past weekend on the beach front in terms of sand movement. Sand berms with nothing to catch the sand, placed too close to the water as well as dune fencing that isn’t angled properly does not catch and retain wind blown sand. This is all readily available scientific information that beach towns up and down the eastern seaboard are aware of. Instead, Belmar is a mess. Sad.
Put Christmas trees down and fence them in so they don’t blow around and in a few years when the sand has anchored itself to the trees, plant beach grass on it. It has worked very well in Bradley. Just go look at it. Brennan told me some dumb malarkey why it can’t/shouldn’t be done. Yeah, anything that works is no good according to our town “leadership.”
Stupid.Ass Belmar Ocean BERMS were the brain child of a Stupid Ass without portfolio of any credentials in Environmental Protection..
We shouldn’t need dunes or berms. We built an $11M boardwalk that can withstand a 200 yr storm. Why such an effort to protect it??? Maybe because it isn’t built as well as originally thought.
…..protect the whole town.
11 million for the boardwalk is nothing compared to the cost of overtime, pensions for extra make work and advertising costs associated with that wood. People visit the Ocean in Belmar. They use the boards to diminish sand on their shoes.

you are saying.
The child like comments can be anyone I understand she is not Colleen’s sister. However going back sometime we did have a women doing a job she wasn’t qualified for. She left us and went to
another employment and then to jail.
Just giving you history.
