Some of us already knew about this one, it was explained to the Mayor and Council at the May 19, 2015 meeting by Lori Dvorak of the JIF insurance fund. You can view it at the 6:10 mark of the tape of that meeting.
John Paff of the NJ Civil Settlements blog has just posted an article which provides us with some more details of the case and a link to all the documents, including the settlement agreement.
Here are the case documents:
I guess Vasil will be spending that 15 grand on lawyers. Red Bank Green reports that a Gregory Vasil was arrested in Red Bank just a little over a week after the settlement:
And then again in August, this time by the Monmouth County Sheriff:
The White Pages only shows one Gregory Vasil currently living in New Jersey so it’s probably him.
BTW, if it’s the same guy, and he’s 48 years old, that would have made him 37 years old in 2004:

Did I read that correctly that 6 workers failed an illegal substance test? Where was the DPW supervisor while this work was going on? I hope this practice does not go on when the fellas are plowing the roads! Maybe that is why there are so many broken curbs after snowstorms around town.
Some of those Sandy clean up workers were temps hired under some jobs program for ex-cons.
So, it sounds like this Vasil guy isn’t the most upstanding citizen. Which would lead one to believe that his claims may have been untrue, and that he did this because he knew he could probably get a settlement? But you are probably suggesting that the town is probably just trying to cover up massive corruption, right?
I’m not suggesting anything. I’m making information available to anyone who might be interested.
what no employee assistance program?
