This is so gross. I can’t even imagine the smell in the back of that market.
They are disgusting pigs. More than bodily fluid deposits, exchanges going on behind the dumpster. Drugs?

This is what Dirty Doherty left the residents of Belmar. Bars, bars and more bars. Over the years we’ve taken steps in right direction, under Doherty we’ve gone backwards.
The Belmar cops couldn’t handle the bar crowds before taking over Lake Como. Now they are in way over their heads. The leadership in the department is more concerned about their overtime than the citizens they’re supposed to protect.
there is more. Fights and bicycle crashes but all happened off camera across the street. Whoever calls Belmar a family friendly town is lying to us and themselves. WE DON”T NEED MORE ALCOHOL IN BELMAR. Yet both mayoral candidates (Mark & Brian) are for extending the seasonal licenses, aka D’Jais. Why do we want more of this? Please clean up our town! After 8 years of the bars running Belmar & a reversal from the polices of Ken Pringle, I beg for one candidates to change their mind and they will receive my vote.
#6 – Agreed, but because there are more bars doesn’t account for the deterioration of people behavior. You’re witnessing a breakdown in society on every level. Yes, alcohol is a fuel that causes them to urinate , but that is just the manifestation of the general lowering of all standards across the board in everything.
Maybe the Acting Chief can hide in the dumpster and pop-out like the Jack in the Box clown that he is everytime a young tourist does their business.
Of course the cops left, they had to get back to protecting the bars. God forbid any of us taxpayers need a cop or an ambulance during the nightly mayhem, because we will just have to wait. The mergers were such ill-informed moves on the part of Doherty, and Magovern & Walsifer are just as inept at making critical decisions.
11 – 4 ambulance calls within 15 minutes on Friday night with 1 taxpayer paid ambulance on duty and a call-out for volunteers for the 2nd. Of the 2 left-out patients, one was arrested and brought to police headquarters and the other opted for his own lift to the hospital. So much for the poorly planned and implemented merger of the first aid services.

Send this blog to property owner not tenants. Duties of property owner to secure the property from vandals, drug dealing, etc. Crime scene investigation for animal’s protection if no other reason.
I live in Lake Como. On a Thursday evening at 5:30pm I called the Belmar PD. A car parked across the street from my home, and left the AC on. The male driver and female passenger got out of their front seats and went into the back seats. They were clearly having sex. They finished before the police arrived and left.
Eventually TWO bicycle units arrived. I asked them what took them so long. They said they were at 18th and Ocean. I asked them why TWO of them had to go to 8th Ave. Who was patrolling Lake Como? Why wasn’t a patrol car sent first?
This is what happens when you get rid of your police department and have an understaffed and incompetent police dept take over.

How is it the Indians get a free pass on the smoking stuff? They’re the ones who started everybody smoking. We should grab their casino profits as reparations for all the peopul who’ve died over the years because of smoking. When I die, it’ll be partly because of my smoking for over thirty years. If I’d never smoked, I probably would have been inflicted on mankind for another whole week and a half.

Is there anyway as a community we can take videos to our town meetings and show the mayor,council,BA,Police and any other representatives at a meeting what we see? How do we provide footage or actual proof to them instead of just verbal concerns? I would like to see a portion of our meetings dedicated to videos or pictures as proof.
I just sent this video to both town councils. I’m hoping they will take time to look at it. I suggested they make the owner of Bar A aware and have him supply a portapotty in the back of the market. It’s the least he can do.
I just left a message with code enforcement in Lake Como to request they secure that property with a fence.I am not sure if the property behind Sunrise shares the driveway but I left a message. This is Lake Como not Belmar. I suggest anyone else that is appalled with seeing this do the same.I am also willing to hold a community policing meeting for everyone. Unfortunately to organize this and have officers in place will most likely be after the summer. This is not a problem as we can be more informed and have better communications and solutions for the future.
The owner of the property as well as the adjacent building, SBE, have exposure in addition to the tenant Sunrise. Obviously Sunrise doesn’t care because it’s allowed to be neglected and as a result is treated as a wealthy GHETTO. Go to INLET TERRACE and show the video. The videographer knows the owner. Can you imagine the vermin in their freezers?
Hi #27 I personally would not want a porta potty across from my home.If they need more bathrooms at Bar A they could construct an enclosed area of multiple bathrooms before entering,not making an alley way a place to relieve yourself. I also think this alley way is an invitation for other crimes to take place. By closing the open area off it would encourage patrons to use the proper areas.

We have to be more vigilant to protect our neighborhoods 24/7 but really, the Sunrise Alleyway is a major crime scene in the making. I thought I was watching “The Wire”.
Called SBE to make them aware of the problem and asked if a fence could be put up to stop people from entering the alleyway.Informed them of the video so they could watch it themselves. Gross!

14 and 33, This is a violation of many town laws. One of which is Bar A amongst others over serving their clients. Why would Sunrise or the building owner be responsible for wretched behavior of their drunken clientele? Police should have a strong presence around Bar A, Djais etc until the crowd dissipates…..every weekend. Where the building owner lives has nothing to do with the lack of police presence in my humble opinion.

#33 The person who answered the phone was going to forward the information and video to owner.It is possible they were unaware as I was that this takes place.I received information from code enforcement that a fence will be going up.Hope this helps resolve the situation. I think when problems are brought to all our attention it’s great that together can come up with solutions.

Bill and I lived on the last through street
( Oakwood Rd,) before Wall ie the furthest from the beach. We had fights in the street at 3 A.M. our car windows busted, drunken college kids climbing up utility polls. You name it. We sleep so much better now. Are you still thinking of the Florida Keys? We love to have you as neighbors.
When will the 16th Avenue Sunrise, SBE property be secured? It’s a crime scene waiting to happen.
Aside from disgusting people using a disgusting alleyway between those buildings anything and everything nefarious IS taking place and it’s not on a resident’s video. Call the police, Board of Health and Code Enforcement.
#47 not sure when the property will be secured,but I did see about 6-7 officials in the alley way on Friday morning . I’m sure they were assessing the situation. Ordering a fence?installing a fence?will take time. However you are correct it should have been temporarily secured immediately to clean up the problem.
