This report was filed August 8 by the RBP (Rebuild Belmar Pavilions). Keep in mind that most of the flyers we’ve been receiving have been paid for not by the RBP, but by the “Building the Future Foundation” which is LIUNA’s PAC. God only knows how much they’ve spent but I’m sure it was a very good investment.

Next up is the Democratic Committee’s most recent report. Big bucks from the unions. When I get the actual Doherty/Brennan campaign report I’ll post that too.

Price for mailer from Kintech seems kind of cheap. Just wondering, would a discounted price from the printer be considered an in-kind contribution?
Anyway, time to jump in my car and go vote!

lOCAL UNION 400 IBEW $3000 NJ State Laborers PAC $7200 (Maggie Moran Doherty) these are the political contributors the mayor represents. This is the source of the money used to pay for the YES vote mailings and calls. This is why it is so IMPORTANT to the Mayor that the pavilions be built for $7,000,000 not a more reasonable amount. All this political support has to be PAID back and they think we’re the saps that should pay it. Wake up Belmar

Well said sir.
Don’t throw away your sign frames we can use them in our next battle.
Does anyone know if the group that went around door to door had a peddlers license? From the way it reads, solicitors need to apply for one of these in Belmar.
I could be reading it wrong and just bitter about the way information is being given as well as what is being said. Even the code red call failed to explain the true reason for the vote but was long enough to tell you to vote yes or no.
And don’t get me started on the abuse of the code red system as a community announcement. Fortunately the mini heart attacks have stopped everytime I see a call from that number.
Don’t know about the door to door and the Banner plane that flew over the ocean this weekend did not provide who the message was paid for by.
Good point. Did anyone notice if the banner said who it was paid for by?
robo call was not a code red through the borough. check caller-id doesn’t match.
I’m sure it was a large investment. Whether it was a good investment or not still remains to be seen.
When I first started to research the heavy-hitting, power players hiding behind the senior lunches, the boy scouts, the girl scouts, the library, the historical society as a MEANS to JUSTIFY THE ENDS, Rules For Radicals made clean by local concerns , I no longer believed one thing they said after that. There is absolutely nothing that they will not do. NOW for the good news ( reported on this blog) Mark Smith our mayor’s buddy in politics and in bond debt- Mayor of Bayonne, was defeated in June. Their debt is $78 Million and it paid all the same people who are sporting YES in Belmar.
I have been reading a book by Vote Yes Committee woman, Janet Grosshandler copyright 1989. I find the following in her introduction to sum up the entire mess, “Aggressive people hold the reins of control on their lives. They go out and get what they want despite the feelings or needs of others. Aggressive people fear the loss of control and often alienate others.”
anyone OTHER THAN ME FEELING ALIENATED
this PAST YEAR?
Coping With Verbal Abuse, Janet Grosshandler
the call i received from colleen last night was prefaced with a typical “this is a code red alert” message. i guess i should just be happy that it was about voting and not playing miniature golf…
Did anyone check the math?
