#1 You have every right to criticize what the Mayor does, but for the sake of his children, please don’t assassinate his character. He has three wonderful children, two of whom are school age. The children adore their Dad, and to read such remarks would be hurtful. I don’t know for sure that the two older children go on this blog, but there is a chance they might. If you have children, #1, please consider my words.
Administrator, as I have previously mentioned… I implore you to delete such words as posted by #1. You have children; you must understand my plea. Please, refrain from posting negativity about the Mayor, the likes of which are posted by #1, for 2018, and in the future. While people have the right to criticize, it seems those very unkind words about the Mayor would certainly devastate his youngsters. Administrator, as a father yourself, I beseech you to consider my request. I know, administrator, that you haven’t honored this request of mine in the past. Matt is a fantastic father, and his children adore him. Hoping that you’ll consider my request in a serious manner …for the sake of his young children . They’re great, loving and respectful children. They don’t deserve to read such words about their beloved Dad.,
#4 May I suggest you forward the Administrator and give him/her words people can’t use describing the Mayor. That would be so very helpful.
I’m with Claire on this. Mainly because I’m a former “Drunken Idiot” myself. Matt is a comparatively young man and if he has a problem with his drinking (I had no problem – I was able to drink morning, noon and night straight through for years), he may still pull himself together.
#4 The Mayor has and will continue to create his own problems, we don’t need to criticize him to show how wrong and misguided he is as he was found guilty of violating civil rights, something his family apparently are proud of as he has not changed his ways.

#7-My commentary is about the children. I requested that the children be saved from reading remarks that are hurtful. Your remarks are out on a limb, and have little to do with anything. Children are close to their Dads. They love their Dads unconditionally.

#9 Maybe i was not clear, or you missed my point which is Matt has only himself to blame for the criticisms and his children will see that when they get older. I think its time he take responsibility for his actions, and if the Federal trial goes forward it might not end well for him.

People should stay out of politics if they do not want their children exposed to remarks about them (parents.) It is a tough and unfair world out there, sorry, no sympathy here.
Home By Summer? Who got credit for that idea? No exploitation there? Kids can tweak the heartstrings so people are moved to spend money.
This is my last commentary on the subject. I have requested of the administrator of this blog not to post ugly remarks about the mayor as posted by #1. I don’t want the mayor’s children to read those ugly comments about their beloved father. It’s plain and simple. The reactions posted to this request are far-fetched and have nothing to do with my request. The idea that the mayor deserves hateful comments is a personal opinion of some commenters. But that has nothing to do with my plea about eliminating nasty remarks for the sake of those three wonderful, loving children.
I notice the mayor had nothing to say on his Facebook about a certain girl from Belmar, a BES graduate, winning Miss Monmouth County and being in the competition for Miss New Jersey. Wonder why.
Could be he didn’t have somebody tell him.
#16 Are you a mouthpiece of Matt, or a Communist? There is a constitution which you may not agree with. People are entitled to their opinions,you don’t agree with them, that’s life. All you Democrats do is attack people that do not agree with them that’s fine but don’t try to control freedom of speech!
Be sure that the mayor is figuring out how to get a photo op with the young lady and maybe even make a buck from the opportunity. Why did he not mention it on facebook? Because he had nothing to do with her winning, I would guess.
First of all, #19, learn how to spell NEIGHBOR. Second, I’m both a mouthpiece for the Mayor, And a card-carrying member of the Communist Party. Third, I am well aware of what freedoms the Constitution affords us. Children adore their Dads…maybe you can’t relate. Knowing the children in question, and how wonderful they are, I didn’t want them to be devastated by the ugly words about their Dad. You obviously don’t have a heart for children. Lastly, due to your poor wording, poor spelling, and lack of common sense, I know which neighbor you are..
BTW, freedom of speech has nothing to do with a blog administrator editing comments, it only applies to the government. However I choose to allow a lot of leeway with the comments even when I don’t agree with them and even when they make me uncomfortable.
