Awakening Alert:Mcdirty put Belmar on the map. Prior thereto Belmar was a Backwater swamp land with housing values in the toilet. Thank mat for allowing us to see the light.
#2…There is nothing to thank Matt for. He destroyed what was once a nice town with happy residents, and an honest business administrator. He never cared about Belmar, and only used us as a stepping stone. And Colleen Connolly has been nothing but a useless, arrogant, disgusting waste of taxpayer’s money.
Well one thing Matt seams to be good at is exploiting vulnerable people to meet his objectives and promote his insatiable desire for publicity. They are giving away the candy store down there to developers so I’m sure the poor folks that live in the areas marked for developement will be pushed out. I hate to say it but it it’s probably a good idea to invest down there. Nobody can work the system like the Dohertys. As long as you don’t mind the detour off the moral highway, some money can be made. I can say that reading his comments is so much easier when he’s talking about a screwing over a different town.
Here come the lawsuits. Sounds like Matt was commissioned by Gov. McMurphy to be the test case on how smoking dope may affect your judgement in attempting to re-vitalize a dead urban area. Like woooooooooow man.
I feel sorry for the folks who don’t have a life. Concerns about Matt’s beard, his new job, garnering publicity-really?? Commenting about him with reference to his years as Belmar Mayor is one thing, but monitoring his every move presently is equal to ridiculous . Get a hobby ! Pursue works of charity! Join a book club! Walk a dog!
#14…Right on!! And #13…Maybe after Colleen is gone and all the kool aid is washed away, we can start commenting on all the welcomed changes that are about to take place. Until then, if our comments bother you that much, then don’t read them.
#13-Perhaps people still are commenting about Matt because he left a huge mess behind and one of those messes is still here….thankfully not for long. Instead of reading them get a hobby, pursue works of charity, join a book club or walk a dog. Even better go to boro hall and help Colleen pack her boxes!!!
15 and 16-Here are some new ideas rather than focusing on Matt’s beard and his other activities: do errands for an elderly person who doesn’t drive, read to children at the library, visit a shut-in and do some soul searching! And #16-get an original idea instead of using mine. But then, this blog’s commentary section must be your only outlet for your inner rage. Another thought-punch a pillow!
More ideas-instead of worrying about Matt…bake cookies, run in a race, ride a bike, learn a craft, have friends over for dinner! Glad you’re still with me, # 18 and #19! Continuing with great ideas!!
#21-More thoughts-instead of noticing Matt’s beard and monitoring his AC job -take a walk on the boardwalk, make new friends, learn a foreign language, find a pen pal, go on a shopping spree, research an historical figure. Just some new ideas!
#22 Why on earth would you assume that we don’t already do all of those things you suggest? Who’s being judgemental now? Pointing out Matt’s ineptitude and often unethical and possibly illegal activities doesn’t take a lot of time at all. You assume, like Matt and Brian and Tom and Jen assume, that the people on this blog that are horrified by his exploitation of positions of power, and therefore point it out, are bad people. Nothing could be further than the truth. We all partake in charitable activities and endeavors that expand our understanding of the world. And when we have a moment at the end of the day, we point out that the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes. Maybe you should take a little time out of your busy schedule and pay attention. It’s very fulfilling.
#22 You should stop drinking the Kool-Aid! Maybe try a nice herbal tea, or a ice cold beer in a Make Belmar Great Again mug, or good detox cleanse to rid yourself of that sore loser mentality your sporting!
#22…I, as well as most others who comment on here, do nice things for the community. You know….the community that Matt and Colleen ruined. Apparently you’ve overdosed on kool aid.
#23 exactly. It is pointless to go back and forth with the former mayor’s supporters. He is GONE. Let us celebrate that and continue to be watchful of the new administration’s activities. “Power attracts the worst and corrupts the best.” (Ragnar Lothbruk from History Channel’s Vikings) Those who condone and excuse corruption are part of problem. Hopefully change is not chump change.
#27. Love that quote. It is spot on. It transcends political party affiliation and ideology. It is up to the people to watch those elected (and appointed) officials and call them out when they abuse their power. Democrats Republicans Liberals Conservatives. They all do it and they need to be held to account.
Donald Trump amd Chuck Schumer literally go to the same parties in the Hamptons while we the people argue over crumbs.
More thoughts – learn to play bridge, join a club, sing in the church choir, volunteer at the SPCA. Hope these are helpful so that your focus isn’t on Matt now that he’s no longer Mayor!
Hurrah! I think administrator Dave gets my humor as I continued to list ideas to Take attention away from Matt. None of the other humorless commenters get it! Mr. Kool-Aid Man-you need a Martini to lighten up! I was prepared to go on and on with ideas, but since I got a hint that Dave understands my humor, I’ll end the fun I’m having. I know-some humorless person will scold me for using the blog in this manner, but with the way of the world as it is today, humor is always a good thing!,
#32 yes, you’re right. I need to work on that.
If only I could understand #31’s “humor”. Maybe it’s too high brow.
I guess I’ll go volunteer at the ASPCA’s bridge club that sings at the senior center while delivering meals to blind orphans that teach foreign languages to pen pals while riding bikes on the boardwalk and feeding stray dogs. That way Matt can go one screwing NJ tax payers and I’ll be totally unaware. Thanks! I feel better already.
#17-clearly you are way too dumb to realize I was referring to your stupid suggestions. You have no clue what I do in my spare time nor do I have to explain to an inept person such as yourself
Fight nice people, and rejoice in the fact that Hillary, Matt and Colleen are all gone. Now the task at hand is to get rid of Matt’s useless, incompetent appointees and re-access out towns need, getting rid of the waste and lowering our taxes. Stop the wasteful spending, rebuild our infra-structure and return peace and services to the residents. Zero tolerance at the bars. Get rid of Cone Man if he can’t produce results.

I wonder if those FBI Agents will find anything where Matt’s name pops up. We can only hope.
He is in way over his head.

AC Mayor’s house raided leaving a Trail of tears?

Maybe he thinks he won’t be recognized by growing a beard.
Swamps aren’t known for their “fertile land” Matt…DTS
Doherty is such a dork!
Didn’t the FBI and IRS just raid the mayor of Atlantic City’s house and office ?

#13 The reasons why people comment about Matt is because he was such an inept mayor. He screwed Belmar. Some want revenge in the hope he fails.

Exorcism scheduled for 12/31/18, midnight, bring sage.
#17 I believe you are way above average dumb.

I’ve never done any of all that stuff. I just work and write a blog.

#33-Good for you! Now you can join the people who enjoy joking around! Glad you are letting loose.
Remember what Yoga Berra said-“It’s Deja Vu all over again!”
“When you come to a fork in the road take it.”

#37-Check out my comments at the #31 post. Who is the dumb one now??
For # 37-Such anger and contempt! Put a smile on your face and change your disposition-it’s the holiday season! And get a sense of humor.
