The following events & organizations used the old Taylor Pavilion throughout the year. Rebuilding the Taylor Pavilion will provide even more space for these organizations to call home.

In July 2014 the Taylor plan was back to a single story and we got this:
There is nothing in either letter about Taylor being some private company’s “venue” for weddings.

Perhaps we should let Merri-Makers use the church as their venue so Taylor won’t be booked solid every weekend for a year in advance.
Better yet, we should have just let the Barclay stay open.

We’ve all been duped, worse yet, we’ve been outright lied to. Who on that council will step forward and standup for the taxpayers?

Brian Magovern is our only hope to stand up to this nonsense. Come on Brian, this is not what you had in mind when you lobbied the towns people for the rebuild of the Taylor Pavilion, is it?
I don’t see anything on merri-makers site that mentions booking the Pavilion. Seems to be advertising their catering services at this venue.
They do “off premises” catering but it’s listed as a venue, therefore it is not considered to be “off premises”.
5 – Stop now, it is listed under their “Venues”. Lets not play the semantics game and play with words.
G.R.I.P – Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians. Magovern is part of the problem. He is too comfortable in his position; he will not really rock the boat.
Any word on when FEMA will reimburse us for the pavilion?
the Methodist property is no longer being used as a school or house of worship …. of course, the owner would like to maintain the property tax-exempt status.
Belmar may be the only town that can turn a tax rateable into an expense.

Total betrayal! After years of gym luncheons and the promise of Taylor, the moving them to Methodist space is a total slap in the face. Most of the seniors will turn the other cheek and be grateful for what they get. Not this senior. I’m going to go out swinging. Wait till I see that two-faced Jennifer.
Isn’t there already a belmar business that can cater to weddings on 35?
Big Matt will sit up there and tell you how great this is for Belmar. It’s up to the other sheep to ask questions and demand answers. Assuming none of them will-including Walsifer, looks like Belmar will be stuck with this mess. Just vote every one of them out. None of these people appear competent.
This was an underhanded move from Day 1 and now we all see the reason why Merri-Makers bid so high for that concession, we all knew it would take a lot of hot dog sales just to break even. Once again the truth comes out after the ink has dried.
I bet the Jersey City Seniors will be using it. And Belmar will host it.
Will the Merri-Makers now compete with the Belmar Fishing Club for reserved parking around Schroeder Park? Or better yet, reserve/claim parking on the grass on that space? Let’s see the details in the contract…What did the Borough give away at the expense of the ignorance of the residents?

Wait till they set up a valet parking stand and park the cars where Matt will have the Chief set up No Parking orange cones at the Lake.
Once again, I’ve got to be the one to stand up for Matt. I think we can all agree Matt doesn’t have the mentality to come up with these schemes. It’s his handlers who’re telling him what to do.
I wonder if the mayor’s cheerleaders like, senior Tom Volker, approve of the Belmar residents being thrown out of a brand new building.The level of deceit by Merri Makers, Mayor Matt Doherty & Brian Magovern Town Council president is unprecedented.I did not vote for a wedding hall!

20 – Soliciting on the beach is not allow. Let’s see where the leadership is on this one. My bet is that their heads are in the sand.
The resident seniors from the senior building will not have to travel as far by having lunch at the former Methodist Church. That space is more at the so-called center of town than the Taylor Pavilion. People at the beach will not have to cross the street to buy food or bring lunch to the beach, which could spoil in the sun. See, everything is fine. And don’t pick on Brian Magovern, after all, he was born in Belmar and knows what is best for this town, whether it is legal or not (in his own words)!
I don’t understand how Merrymakers can list Taylor Pavilion as a venue. Isn’t it a town owned building?
#23 They can not, By law you can use any vendor you wish. Merrymakers is just flat out giving people misinformation.The building was built with Fema monies.
Huh? They can’t represent exclusivity? Are you required to use them as your caterer? Can I request a date to hire the Taylor Pavilion via Colleen, complete a rental application, pay required fees for subject rental date in advance and then hire my own catering company like, Hmmmm, Ma’$ or Drew’s in Spring Lake Heights?
