La Dolce Vita, 10th Ave Burrito chosen despite submitting almost none of the required information.
I’m certain that if other vendors had known they could submit very incomplete applications like Vita and Burrito did, we would have gotten a lot more of them to choose from. To lay out all these requirements in the RFP and then allow them to be ignored is really unfair to the businesses that took those requirements seriously, including Merri-Makers.
Mostly it’s unfair to the people who actually own that building and have to pay off its bond.

Not an average application. Way below average information required. Guess council and mayor want it that way.
The 10th Avenue Burrito application looks like April Claudio’s handwriting.
Complete garbage ! I would love to hear an explanation from the mayor and council. This is Doherty all over again which is exactly why I’ll be voting for Jim Bean.
Jim Bean for Council this year, and Jim Bean for Mayor the second it can be done. I’ll say it again, Mark Walsifer only cares about Mark Walsifer!
Yes I’m voting for the guy named Bean also. My son, CPA, told me I should
As usual, Admin, your reporting and commentary are flawless.
Same old BS!
4-Not so. Mark Walsifer spent almost 20 years on the
Belmar Board of Education. This is a position without pay. Strictly voluntary. This is a man who gives of himself. Not a person who only cares about himself. Twenty years is a long time to volunteer for anything.
Also, as a police officer, Mark was most helpful if you needed him for any reason. Have you volunteered for anything for 20 years, # 4?
#4-You are so wrong. Mark recently held a meeting for senior residents at the 7th Ave. community center. He answered all of the questions with sincerity. He wouldn’t have extended himself like that if he only cares about himself. Don’t forget Mark’s many years on the board of education.
Mark Walsifer is the best!
