Well the good part is that AC is so screwed up even this guy can’t screw it up any worse. His biggest problem will be the drive home after happy hour.
2 peas in a pod, twittle dee and twittle dum. They deserve each other. They have 2 things in common 1) heritage 2) propensity to embibe on copious amounts of beverages. I’m sure he’ll get caught up in a scandal down there. I’m sure the GSP aka the trail of tears will not be friendly to him. Maybe he can advise theb AC beach patrol on how to do their job and they’ll tell him to take a long walk off a short pier…..game on….Drew & Colleen have a nice Summer!!
I can hear Maggie now Matty this great no background check
No back round check? He won’t last long. 5 to 1 he’s unemployed in two years. He’s below average.
Three ;3) cheers for Uncle Phil.
Smart move, Deputy not Director Appointment.
Gotta love the sign in front of McMurphy. What it should read is” Saving Belmar Taxpayers”….. by giving McDirty a Political $250k job (bennies, car, pension) over the 100 other a-kissing hacks that were on their knees applying for this BS job. We need someone strong to right this ship and McGovern is not the man. Continue to vote these puppets out, do not forget their wrongdoings, lies.
Has to be a no show job as there is no way he made it to work first day after the parade. If he did great first impression.
Was it a package deal? Is Ms. Connelly going too? Please let there be a hot mic somewhere in the next two years. He is bound to make Gov. Murphy aware of what a fool and jackass he really is.
Best wishes for success and a bright future on Mediterranean Avenue.
As much as I am thrilled that Doherty will not be our mayor if this goes through, I for one am appalled that he gets rewarded for the chaos he created here in Belmar. Murphy obviously owes Kivvit and Maggie Moran. Doherty will now have access to even bigger public till then he had here in Belmar. What a political joke these people play on us, the tax paying public.
Just remember when you vote in November who voted in lock step with Dorehty. Brian Magovern is totally incompetent and Jennifer never had an original thought in her head.
When the day of financial reckoning hits the fan remember who put us there!
Well I do believe my aspirin intake will diminish drastically over the course of time
Good. All that aspirin is bad for your stomach
Why would anyone want to right the sinking Ship of Belmar, January, 2019?
Amen Katrina, but at least he’ll be gone. Let’s think about our future. We can’t let Colleen become CFO, and we can’t allow McGovern to be mayor. Anyone know a decent person who will run, and one who has a CFO license?
It’s in the cards.
#14.Never heard of a CFO license. Maybe a special degree in Municipal Finance
He will be appointed before he has to run. So he will be sitting as Mayor until the Election in November.
#17 Please do I buy more aspirins or not. That can’t be true. However I wouldn’t put anything past demorats.
Thank God Doherty is out of here. I hope he takes Colleen Connolly with him. She is very rude and unprofessional. Maybe she can go back to Merri Makers making hors d’oeurves.
#17 – Correct. Awl this j[o]y is a bit premature. Let’s wait until he’s actualy out the doore.; Then we can celebrat’e.
Did he get this job on his own? No. Thanks to a nice donation to Murphy and wifey.
Hmmm. Average Joe I think you’re right. I’m calling it a CFO license but it could be called something else. Colleen is taking courses to be eligible for the job I hear.
Background check for all financial position(s) in Belmar should be the first requirement, especially an applicant who a Superior Court Judge deemed as NOT CREDIBLE.
Heard Doherty is not leaving his position as mayor.
#21 – Yes Maria, he got it on his own. It’s a reward for being the best toady. There has to be a reward for best toadyist.
#24 – Yep, that[s] right up his allie.
#10 Katrina, your comment is spot on. First thing that came to mind when I saw the news was the public till he will now have access to in his position with CRDA – he is probably drooling at the prospects of that.
Financial reckoning for Belmar is just around the corner and I sincerely hope the Belmar residents work hard leading up to November to right the ship of this precious little town that is tilting into some rough financial waters under this current administration.
#24 Even if he doesn’t leave his job
as Mayor. He will be voted out. There
is a lot of unfinished business out
there and a lot of unhappy people. Our
Hero blew it.
#27. I hope you are right.
#24 My understanding is that Executive Directors and Deputies are not allowed to hold public office, but the Murphy Administration has agreed to let Doherty stay on for a few more months to wind things down. The good news is that I don’t expect him to stay past June. The bad news is that he can, and no doubt will, do a lot of damage between now and then.
Holy Smokes, our goose are cooked. He’ll be here until after the primary unless we can recall him STAT.
Ken, Are the rules that govern the dual office holding so lax that Doherty can be given 90 days to cover his tracks and as you say do a lot of additional damage? What is there to ‘wind down’ that is so crucial that only the one who made the mess can do it?
75 miles each way on the GSP is a drag …. better take a helicopter from Silver Lake to AC and see the big picture.
32 – Does Epic own a helicopter?
#29 He can’t wind them down any lower
than they are. Will he be here for the
Primary? Can he remain Mayor or can he
not appoint Brian and leave him as Pres
Of the council?
#18 Please don’t take anymore aspirin
he isn’t worth it. It will all come out
in the wash. You talk about the left
Now we have 2 of them to deal with. Why
Would a Governor get involved with us?
