If Mark Walsifer thinks for one second that Huisman isn’t a supervisor then he is being lied to by Campbell or living under a rock. He already took over the supervisors desk and parking spot. Takes home an “unmarked” truck everyday. This hiring is a scam and a morale buster for those who have been here.

This council repeatedly says things like, “this is just applying for the grant, maybe we won’t build the bridge”.

Then as the votes go on, and approval after approval, “maybe we won’t” snowballs into a sure thing.

A bridge to nowhere is a joke for a reason! Apply for a grant to beautify the lake, but a bridge is not needed. I’m so tired of this mayor and council. How could he not see a downside?

I’m not sure that Mayor Walsifer and the Council People that voted to submit the bridge grant application realize that if you do “win the lottery” and get the grant, then the town is expected to use it for the purpose that was applied for (i.e, the bridge. And if it did include a percentage that Belmar has to kick in, then Belmar has to spend that if they do accept the grant. So unless they changed the application to NOT include the bridge it means nothing for them to say…”We will worry about that later.” Applying for a grant just because it is available is a waste of time and effort if it is not going to be used (and certainly other towns, I’m sure, who have thought out their plans better, might miss out). After listening to all the voices of the residents, it was sad to see my neighbors be totally dismissed.

#4 Towards the end of the meeting I specifically asked for the council members to clarify their positions. There seemed to be a haziness on whether they were 1) voting to apply for a grant that may or may not be used for a bridge or 2) voting for the bridge. The mayor stated that everyone that voted yes (himself, Wann, Carvelli) were voting specifically for the bridge. I asked again to give the other council members a chance to clarify if they wanted. They did not.

The statements that were made last night about maybe not using it for a bridge or maybe not getting it were a way to take the immediate heat off the council and mayor so they could hide in ambiguity. Make no mistake, last night Walsifer, Wann, and Carvelli voted for the Bridge to Nowhere (as #2 put it) with no consideration for the feelings and beliefs of the community.

Everything Brian Magovern said is right. He has lived by that lake and has helped care for that lake his whole life.

What was Campbell saying that the grant was for a bridge, but was not for a bridge? He has never been a good liar, and it is more than past time for him to just go away.

The grant has to be for the bridge. That is what the grant was asked for, therefor it can not be used for anything else. No bones about it. PAT, you never have a definite answer. You hem and haw. Disappointed in you.

I think they all have to go. There wasn’t one person from the community who said it was a great idea. I think. Is there some hidden treasure there? This council is nuts along with the Mayor. Now time for more aspirins. Horrible just horrible

The whole thing is a distraction from the Huseman appointment waste of money. Hey Kat where did all you Walsifer supporters go?

  13. Walsifer was part of the Doherty shadiness. We were wrong thinking he would miraculously come clean. We need an unsullied mayor & council.
