I say let’s get a petition going for the redevelopment ordinance. Reason being you ask ?- Because nobody in this town should trust a thing this mayor does. He’s a self serving politician so there’s got to be an underlying reason for this designation and it’s probably not in the best interest of the town.
That sounds highly likely. I do believe this designation permits a lot of wheeling and dealing on tax issues and is probably a great way to reward friends[contributors?] and punish others[element?]. So color me skeptical in the extreme. And memory fades but is there not a fairly recent history of losing in court on redevelopment issues? Is this the start of another expensive legal debacle?
Blackburn and Magovern must be gotten rid of next, as they support and vote for the mayor’s plans. I always laugh, then want to throw up when I read the letters in the Coast Star that say they are such nice people who do what is best for the residents of Belmar. Nice doesn’t cut it as a reason to vote for someone. They are spineless enablers.
I have not heard anything about the suggested informational meetings about the mandated sidewalk repairs, meetings that are not politically motivated, like conducted by council members up for reelection to use the opportunity for themselves. Just the facts, no “I love Belmar and want to make it better” hooey.

Self-serving thug you mean. It is never for Belmar’s benefit. That would just be a by-product.

Yup, east of Ocean Avenue, he lost that one too. OUCHIE.
WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
The boardwalk was to be redeveloped after it was glowingly rebuilt and the mayor bragged about it, as I recall. Too late on that one, Mr. Hurricane.
