Use Of Force Reports For 2018 Season

I noticed on the Borough’s OPRA requests page that last week some organization had OPRAed these.

They also requested the ones for 2017.  You can see them here.

Clearly shows Under the Influence, immature, little young boys just wasting away your tax dollar’s (supporting the operation of the local watering halls) by providing jobs for police system. Betcha Lake Como taxpayers are happy they don’t pay for the bars security bills anymore.

That’s why there were so few arrests in the 80s and 90s! The cops owned group rental houses and protected the others.

Hmmmm. That address at 18th and Ocean sounds familiar. As Mayor Pringle once said it’s the magnet for the mayhem.

At the time of these incidents, are these cops on bar duty or were they on general patrol? From the dates of the incidents it’s my guess that they are on bar babysitting duty which is a requirement of the license for these establishments. If that is the case, the incidents open Belmar to tremendous potential liability from unjustified lawsuits from the trash they are arresting when force is required.

For each arrest or first aid call to these bars, there should be a $250 to $500 fine to the owners for not better controlling or over-serving their customers. Why should the taxpayers be responsible to for the clean up of this trash by which these establishments profit so handsomely?

#8- Now you’re onto something. There should be an Officer who’s duties are ABC violations. Apparently that person is not doing their job.

Belmar should mandate a $1 per drink sold fee at the bars. This would be a babysitting and trash pickup fee for keeping our police officers busy with their customers. Shame that our officers waste time with this garbage vs. 100% policing our neighborhoods and protecting the residents.

#7 not only is liability for Belmar to be sued, what if one of our cops gets seriously injured in one of these situations.

#11 Lets be honest. Belmar has been and will always be a bar town. Apart from the beach, that’s where our bread is buttered. I hear way too many people complaining about bars and patrons but in reality the town is way, way tamer than it used to be. If anyone really has a problem they should just move to Spring lake, or Avon or Wall. Please do us the favor and stop complaining. If you don’t know what you signed up for living here you are out of touch.
