I have to agree ( for the first time ever ) with the Asbury Park Press. I spent two hours that night speaking with the “17 year old”. First, the use of the informal “matt” and not Mayor Doherty. If you are 17 and asking to be forgiven by an elected official you don’t address him by his nickname. Like many people this age, he works in an established restaurant in Belmar. There is no reference to his main job. Lastly, and the real clunker is the part where he give the mayor the right to make public his email apology. Those are 3 red flags that cause me to seriously doubt the email’s authenticity.

Yeah Teddy and also the Mayor is a bold faced liar as I have said before! And once you lie you can never be trusted again.

And he is not 17. He’s almost 21. There are many inaccuracies in this joke of an email. Out of all the signs he could have held he clearly held the one the struck a nerve and did so willingly. Wah wah wah Mayor Matt. Truth hurts doesn’t it
Has anyone tallied what every lawsuit has cost the Boro. I can’t even imagine what the harmon/Kapalco lawsuits will. At what point does the municipal joint insurance fund say enough is enough. Belmar isn’t even in the local JIF. They are in the middlesex JIF from what I hear. Does a town become uninsurable because of the lawless actions of a mayor and his cronies for a council. ?

Why Middlesex JIF instead of Monmouth JIF? Is there preferential treatment alloted to Belmar? Is anyone in the mcdirty administration in any OFFICIAL Middlesex JIF administrative capacity?
