So much for quality union workmanship. Epic may have skimped on the nails to put a little more green in Matt’s “pawket”. And what happens two years down the road when Epic is “in the wind” and we are held holding the “leaky” bag?

Very strong shingle? Garbage. Should have installed a metal roof. Why not it’s only money

Maybe they were installed in the fall-winter season too late to bind together

When I put a new roof on my house the building code stated 8 nails per shingle. Eight nails to stand up to hurricane force winds. I wonder how many nails per shingle are on the 10th Ave pavilion roof? Hope it meets code.

Correcting myself (actually my wife is correcting me). We put on very thick shingles and eight nails per shingle were required. I thought is was due to code. Apparently not. My bad. But still, new shingles on a wind exposed building get damaged by the wind. Not good.

Below budget because DPW is doing some of the work and the expense may be hidden in the beach utility?

Don’t worry about the future financial outlook and outgo in Belmar. Collen will be the New Chief Financial Officer when her schooling is finished in anticipation of Robin’s retirement. As told to Judge Gummer the Boardwalk was, in Collen’s view, an Accoutrement of the Pavilions. Çreative finances from the wizard and his handler here she comes.

That is impossible that the roof blew off! We paid $1M in engineering and inspection costs. We have all been scammed!!

Now I’m wondering if Matt writes off his Jeep as some sort of job expense.

#16 Why not, after all, he is around and about town on borough business all the time, like “fundraising”, etc., as well as all that good-doing he is famous for. Could be that the borough pays for the jeep’s lease?

#15 Maybe some disgruntled persons who contributed to the Buy a Board project were disillusioned when the mayor boldly proclaimed a couple of meetings ago that such donations would be used to pay for the 5th Avenue pavilion, in defiance of Judge Gummer’s prohibition of using those funds in that manner. Lawless is as lawless does. The wind is neutral.

Were there not loose large propane tanks at the boat storage area where the fire happened? See the first picture. Is that a violation?

Major design flaws with the 10th Avenue Pavilion:

    1. The observation tower is obsolete for the same reason as lighthouses …. replaced by technology …. a PTZ webcam atop the Mayfair would provide superior waterfront views …. 24 hours a day.
    2. Like the old Taylor Pavilion …. the eatery would be better located at the north end of the building to take advantage of the building’s shadow shade …. also, the southern roof is not a candidate for solar power.
    3. Except for EMS personnel mustering, the elevated First Aid room is a waste for the same reason hospitals have emergency entrances at ground level …. if you can climb stairs and ramps, you probably don’t need first aid. A ambulance docking port with electric hook-up would make more sense
