And according to an Asbury Park Press story about the project, the $5.1 million cost also includes the furniture, phones and computers. (The story was not about what a great bargain Lavallette got. The story was about the high cost Lavallette and other towns were paying for new municipal buildings.)

So before any change orders the Proposed cost to FEMA is 392.307 per square ft. including phones, furniture
and computers.
Taylor 4,1 million divided by 7700 sq.ft. $532.47 a sq.ft.?
!0th Ave. 2 million divided by 267.5 sq.ft $752.59 per sq. ft ?
Ironic truly cost more at lead per square foot.
I would like to know the engineering estimate for the Lavellette Building.
Also: Now that the two Belmar Pavilions are unbundled what is the percentage of the $1,035,000. Maser Engineering Fee for each, Taylor vs 10th Ave.
The $5.1 million number is from the March 11 APP story. The photo of the building under construction was taken June 29.
I don’t if there were any change orders but I’m going to look when I get a chance.
!. A while back I researched on line sites that gave an average new commercial construction ( not flood zone) per region of U.S. The high side, NYC was $200. per sq.ft. I read that the petitioners say $2,900,000. or
$376.6 per Sq. Ft. and they are being attacked for being unreasonable with FEMA reimbursement @227.17 per sq.ft for Taylor?
To this point it looks like change orders total about $46,000. They were for electrical upgrades, better ductwork for the post office and upgrades to the police radio system and jail cells.
It seems they seem to act in a fiduciary manner and are not ethically challenged!
In her defense Claire wasn’t a Math teacher, and the Mayor cant even write a letter with out sounding like a 10 year old school girl. So I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say he wasn’t a math major either. One other note none of the builders are fit to ref a basketball game , so the building must be flawed.
You must even consider what Lavalette did was build their MUNICIPAL COMPLEX. What Belmar is bonding is for leisure activities not municipal business. Big difference in risk vs. benefit don’t you think?
No need to defend me-I get math-The Truth is…..you can’t tell the truth-at least where your name is concerned…..why don’t you TELL the truth-so what’s your plan for the Taylor Pavilion? My roommate in college was a phys ed major-her course work was similar to med school-she had to take kineseology,science of motion, knowing every muscle in the body and functions of such, in-depth studies of all body systems and how they were applied in different physical endeavors/activities, first aid instruction, adaptive phys ed instruction for children with limited abilities,plus taking psychology courses-which we all had to take as we prepared for our profession as educators…..do you get the message? What were your college courses like??
Oh Claire relax , I was simply noting that the math this council uses is very suspect at best. To tell people that insurance money and buy a board money will be available to finance construction is stretch at best. Time will tell. In regards to your name calling you sound as childish as Matt did in his letter to the Coast Star. I fully enjoyed my college experience, the course not so much.
