And according to an Asbury Park Press story about the project, the $5.1 million cost also includes the furniture, phones and computers.  (The story was not about what a great bargain Lavallette got.  The story was about the high cost Lavallette and other towns were paying for new municipal buildings.)

Wallace Brothers won the bid and built the building.

So before any change orders the Proposed cost to FEMA is 392.307 per square ft. including phones, furniture
    and computers.
    Taylor 4,1 million divided by 7700 sq.ft. $532.47 a sq.ft.?
    !0th Ave. 2 million divided by 267.5 sq.ft $752.59 per sq. ft ?

Ironic truly cost more at lead per square foot.

I would like to know the engineering estimate for the Lavellette Building.
Also: Now that the two Belmar Pavilions are unbundled what is the percentage of the $1,035,000. Maser Engineering Fee for each, Taylor vs 10th Ave.

The $5.1 million number is from the March 11 APP story. The photo of the building under construction was taken June 29.

I don’t if there were any change orders but I’m going to look when I get a chance.

!. A while back I researched on line sites that gave an average new commercial construction ( not flood zone) per region of U.S. The high side, NYC was $200. per sq.ft. I read that the petitioners say $2,900,000. or
$376.6 per Sq. Ft. and they are being attacked for being unreasonable with FEMA reimbursement @227.17 per sq.ft for Taylor?

To this point it looks like change orders total about $46,000. They were for electrical upgrades, better ductwork for the post office and upgrades to the police radio system and jail cells.

In her defense Claire wasn’t a Math teacher, and the Mayor cant even write a letter with out sounding like a 10 year old school girl. So I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say he wasn’t a math major either. One other note none of the builders are fit to ref a basketball game , so the building must be flawed.

You must even consider what Lavalette did was build their MUNICIPAL COMPLEX. What Belmar is bonding is for leisure activities not municipal business. Big difference in risk vs. benefit don’t you think?

Dollar for Dollar? Insults under a fake name…..hmmmm….is that The Truth? Ironic that you’d use that title…..allege you’re telling the truth when you don’t tell the truth! Sacrastic and hurtful besides….

#7-The Truth-Read my comment-which is posted at #9-I just figured you out-you’re an intellectual snob with no brain-besides your demeaning comments about Matt and me…..posted here as #7-you made a very insulting remark about gym teachers on an earlier post…..who do you think you are? My roommate in college was a phys ed major-her course work was similar to med school-she had to take kineseology, science of motion, knowing every muscle in the body and functions of such, in-depth studies of all body systems and how they were applied in different physical endeavors/activities, first aid instruction, adaptive phys ed instruction for children with limited abilities, plus taking psychology courses-which we all had to take as we prepared for our profession as educators… you get the message? What were your college courses like??

Oh Claire relax , I was simply noting that the math this council uses is very suspect at best. To tell people that insurance money and buy a board money will be available to finance construction is stretch at best. Time will tell. In regards to your name calling you sound as childish as Matt did in his letter to the Coast Star. I fully enjoyed my college experience, the course not so much.

#13-Name calling? You are ,indeed, a hypocrite…The Truth? Your case against me is a Laughing Matter! How about your insults ? If you wanted to address the council about math skills, why did you mention me? But That’s OK with you-one-way thinking-but I really don’t think it’s thinking-you insult people in my profession and that’s OK-gym teacher remark? You didn’t address that in your latest post-me, childish?? What about someone like yourself who won’t use your actual name? This game you play.. That’s childish-
#11-Anonymous-You’re redundant-I’m fine with what I post… it plausible that grownups use fake names…..and change them to hide their identities? That’s like a manipulative child who doesn’t want to be found out… I’ll beat this drum forever-

At least I’m honest….and tell the truth-you don’t.. using the truth as your title is absurd….you won’t answer, because you’re unable to answer-because you know whatI’ve posted is THE TRUTH-don’t down grade/ down play what I say because you have nothing to come back with-you denegrate the education profession, you use a fake name (Yes, #11-I’m still making a point of faceless people who use false indetities)-using a fake name to insult-#15-my “rantings” are posted using my given name-You’re going to take the high road-that’s very funny-you insult without an identity-that’s certainly not taking the high road-your cowardice is showing….

Fake names…scheming are those who change their names -unscrupulous are those who make false innuendos in an attempt to damage the reputation of others-with no proof-thanks for your comments! You’re right on target with people who post on this blog….

Oh Claire you just couldn’t let it go . So here some truth for you. Your Democratic machine has done nothing but tear this town apart and the you get upset when people call you on it. You ignore referendum won’t they don’t go your way. Your Democratic machine call us names for fight the administration when it is necessary to get our voices heard. You say why don’t you use your real name I only have to point to last meeting when a case of Matt having a change of heart has put the Harmon brothers at a stand still , why here some more truth be oust the owners of 9th are upset with some comp. You don’t have a truth problem you have A trust problem . You see Djais can give an extra 200 votes ( maybe not anymore) but it can’t give you the trust of the people. Even in the days of Maria Hernadez has this town been more divided you reap what you sew .while I’m at why do I wonder if Brian was up for election he would have got credit for the water savings. Like I said it a Trust thing. Names don’t matter when you speak the truth. Oh and you still never accepted my bet on the money spent on the Avon Bulding vs your on Rain shelter

The Truth-Interesting-you didn’t use this title when you made the bet-I think I did accept the bet-go back and check-if you remember the name you used at the time….don’t understand your sentence about 9th-can’t believe you’re holding on to the rain shelter-I’m really getting your attention-why would you challenge the idea of people scurrying to Taylor Pavilion from the beach when a sudden rain storm occurred? It makes perfect sense to go to the nearest shelter-many people trusted me when I was on council-and residents trust this sitting council-people still approach me to this day and thank me for the work I did as councilwoman..I followed through on every question/idea/reasonable request..nothing you can find fault with…an elderly woman looking for assistance after Sandy…..that kind of benevolent work..believe it or not that’s The Truth-your ramblings show me that you’re truly some of your commentary is difficult to understand…I’m sorry for that-as you bring up Maria Hernandez-that tells me that you’re up there in years-like me-the bet’s still on-for Dunkin Donuts-but if you prefer Brandl’s-as you previously stated-I’d be happy to oblige-Take care….
