Your tax dollar working for you.
So? Nothing new to see here.
Can we please vote out the current administration?? If you can not see by these police reports, the total control of this area when this establishment is operating, the reduced value in real estate in this area, the destruction of property and quality of life in the surrounding neighborhoods…All because the current Adm. knows that the only reason they are in power is because this establishment has put them there. Enjoy your 4TH!
This report is disturbing, 33 pages of police calls to Djais nightclub! The time has come to tax nightclubs on admittance fees, offsetting the added police cost.Do you think this is a fair solution? Belmar taxpayers should not pay for nightclub police calls.
I’m shockt, shockt that such an upstanding emporium as Jacks would be on such a list. It must’ve been a hideous lie put out by an envious opponent.
Djais needs to go. It ruins the late night tranquility of the oceanfront area. The yelling of drunk patrons distorted from this bar keeps ocean Ave residents awake at night.
My brother was visiting and took a ride down Ocean Ave early one evening. There was an extremely drunk guy staggering across the street near Djais stopping traffic. He was giving everyone the finger. No cop or bouncer around to stop him. I’m sure they were on 100 other calls. I don’t think there are enough cops on the Belmar police force to keep up with what goes on in Belmar.
Yall hataz gotta stop JOCKIN djais!!! Go in an get YAGER SHOTZ if u can HANGG!!
#4 – Could you imagine how many pages the D’Jais report would be if 3 to 4 cops were not stationed outside at taxpayers expense in an attempt to maintain some peace?
#4 The Internal Revenue Service is looking into this unrecorded CASH business(es) but only an insider, tee hee, will know the total CASH cover charge hauled into the democrat coffers in 2018. Thank you Phil.
What I find as interesting as the number of reports filed is the fact that Belmar routinely doesn’t submit a report to the Coast Star for inclusion in their “Police Reports” news for this town. Are we keeping this problem a secret?
#11- It’s really not a problem to Chief cone man as he rakes in 180k with Overtime. Greed.
My favorite Police report a few years ago was when a cop arrested a woman outside of Bar A and handcuffed her and put her in the back of the squad car. Instead of taking her to the police station, he kept chewing the fat with other policemen outside Bar A. In the mean time, his prisoner was very active. She got her hands in front of her (I guess she was double jointed)and managed to get in the front seat of the squad car and steal it. She led a merry chase and ended up smashing up the police car down the Garden State Pkwy. The best part was that the policemen’s last name was the same as a S. Belmar politician and they swore to God that that wasn’t the reason the policemen wasn’t fired. I was only new down here then and I thought that took a lot of heart to look people in the eye and lie like that. But as I said, I was new down here then. I know better now.
#11 Only for the last 20 years or more
Give or take. Anything not legal
You will never read in print. Sad
that the people that pay the bills
do not know all their paying for.
Out of the 33 pages of listings 72 calls were logged into dispatcher at headquarters to record officers reporting their arrival for pay duty.
What shows up in the media news is what is sometimes controlled by certain political entities. Enough said…
#12 – That overpaid Acting Chief was playing traffic cop with cones again tonight at the Marina. What has become of Belmar with all the police dollars we spend to protect these bars?
The town(Belmar) has become a well below average town.
8 cops stationed at D’jais last night. Your tax dollars at work!
I think D’Jais pays for those.
#17 The “acting” chief of police out placing cones at the bars is making well over $100 an hour in overtime! How long will this charade go on?
20, Admin – They pay for 8 cops? I don’t think so.
The bill for cops at D’Jais has to exceed $350 an hour with the two Regular cops on overtime and the numerous Specials wandering around. Add to the the Jailer costs and the disorderly persons transportation to the police station. This is all over taxing (punn intended) on the property owners of Belmar.
For the cops employed by our bars is this all pensionable time? If so that is the real hidden cost.
These reports are just calls to DJ’s address. I am sure it does not reflect the mayhem and police activity surrounding this place. If report included this it would be well over 100 pages
Rumor used to be that all the cops in town got free takeout from dais window including patrol car pickups to bring food back to the station.
Belmar police blotter used to be in Coast Star regularly and would report DJ’s address for arrests. Then someone told them to stop listing the address as it was bad for their reputation and PD would just report Ocean Avenue. Now they have been told not to provide a blotter report at all.
25 – The cops are starting to call in issues across 18th Avenue and as a generic “100 Block” of 18th.
26 – That practice has been going on for years. They are all getting free food and booze (off duty for the cops), including the Mayor and Council.
Tonight Bar A gets 8 of Belmar’s finest. Who pays for all of this private police coverage at these bars???
WE THE TAXPAYERS DO!
