Can we please vote out the current administration?? If you can not see by these police reports, the total control of this area when this establishment is operating, the reduced value in real estate in this area, the destruction of property and quality of life in the surrounding neighborhoods…All because the current Adm. knows that the only reason they are in power is because this establishment has put them there. Enjoy your 4TH!

This report is disturbing, 33 pages of police calls to Djais nightclub! The time has come to tax nightclubs on admittance fees, offsetting the added police cost.Do you think this is a fair solution? Belmar taxpayers should not pay for nightclub police calls.

I’m shockt, shockt that such an upstanding emporium as Jacks would be on such a list. It must’ve been a hideous lie put out by an envious opponent.

Djais needs to go. It ruins the late night tranquility of the oceanfront area. The yelling of drunk patrons distorted from this bar keeps ocean Ave residents awake at night.

My brother was visiting and took a ride down Ocean Ave early one evening. There was an extremely drunk guy staggering across the street near Djais stopping traffic. He was giving everyone the finger. No cop or bouncer around to stop him. I’m sure they were on 100 other calls. I don’t think there are enough cops on the Belmar police force to keep up with what goes on in Belmar.

What I find as interesting as the number of reports filed is the fact that Belmar routinely doesn’t submit a report to the Coast Star for inclusion in their “Police Reports” news for this town. Are we keeping this problem a secret?

My favorite Police report a few years ago was when a cop arrested a woman outside of Bar A and handcuffed her and put her in the back of the squad car. Instead of taking her to the police station, he kept chewing the fat with other policemen outside Bar A. In the mean time, his prisoner was very active. She got her hands in front of her (I guess she was double jointed)and managed to get in the front seat of the squad car and steal it. She led a merry chase and ended up smashing up the police car down the Garden State Pkwy. The best part was that the policemen’s last name was the same as a S. Belmar politician and they swore to God that that wasn’t the reason the policemen wasn’t fired. I was only new down here then and I thought that took a lot of heart to look people in the eye and lie like that. But as I said, I was new down here then. I know better now.

Give or take. Anything not legal
You will never read in print. Sad
that the people that pay the bills
do not know all their paying for.

The bill for cops at D’Jais has to exceed $350 an hour with the two Regular cops on overtime and the numerous Specials wandering around. Add to the the Jailer costs and the disorderly persons transportation to the police station. This is all over taxing (punn intended) on the property owners of Belmar.

Belmar police blotter used to be in Coast Star regularly and would report DJ’s address for arrests. Then someone told them to stop listing the address as it was bad for their reputation and PD would just report Ocean Avenue. Now they have been told not to provide a blotter report at all.
