“The needs of the many, out weigh the needs of the few, or the one”. The priorities of this administration have rarely matched those of the “tax paying” residents. When we bring our agenda and concerns to the council, its always sit down and shut up. Can’t you see all the good things we are doing?
How can this not be at the top of the list-along with the Lake Como issue-for improvements in Belmar? We work our fingers to the bones to have nice homes and raise our children here. We pay taxes with our hard earned money, and deserve as much protection as possible from our council!
#3 Best of luck in getting this much needed assistance. As it is, most of us know that the “mayor and council” do not care to do what is truly needed for the residents of Belmar. #6 It will be interesting to see what happens!
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique
And a swinging hot spot
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
They took all the trees
And put ’em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half to seem ’em
No no no
Don’t it always seem to go,
That you don’t know what you’ve got
Til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Hey farmer farmer
Put away the DDT
I don’t care about spots on my apples
Leave me the birds and the bees
Please!
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got
Til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Hey, now they paved paradise
To put up a parking lot

#11. Perhaps, that is why the permitted CAFRA plan 2010 has grass pavers for the entire lot/parkland at K-Street vs. a plastic bags of dredged materials/dewatering site.#10 Try singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell.
“oh, I wish there was a river, I could sail away on.” Maybe at K Street.
You hit the nail on the head Teddy. I am certain those tarp covered dredge spoils contributed to a higher than normal problem. No water infiltration on thousands of sq. ft. that was once there. Once again great planning on the part powers that be. Better put a STOP PAYMENT claim in on Maser’s next invoice.
#10 No – Joni Mitchell 1970. but the song is fitting. I see Teddy caught it too. I am a registered Democrat and Bernie supporter. I am ashamed of the corruption here in Belmar. Unless you are doing the mayor a favor, you mean nothing. I wonder how DJais will help him in his bid for Freeholder. Not sure I want him in that position either. I can only hope that he is exposed for what he is.
#18 Good one.. he is a real “Richard” that’s for sure..

You can see the river coming up over the bulkhead in these photos. If the grass pavers were built according to the approved CAFRA plan, it probably would have infiltrated enough of the tide to prevent this!
Just spent time reviewing the 2010 CAFRA Plans. The area designated “minimal Flooding ( primarily L Street, was based on 1984 FEMA. Clearly the past several storms 2014 and 2015 ( not to mention Superstorm Sandy have proven a need to update. Does anyone know if FEMA has? #1 – Yes! Say it like it is! Thank you.

All is Ok. The water is “permitted” to rise and flood.
Yes, God, protect us from the council! And their nearsighted apologists.
Wait until the marina building and paving is done. It will get worse, which is why the NJDEP likes to see studies done prior to approving permits.
Nothing new, this has been happening for years

Impervious parking lots will not solve flooding.

I think the council plus the mayor should resign NOW.

What next a floating bar on edge of Rt 35?
Maybe all the rich people with yachts would enjoy it
#16:Welcome to Belmar. I wouldn’t worry too much about our mayor He is probably being “cynical and drunk and boring someone in some dark café”.

Clouds will not get in the mayor’s way. Live by the water, you get wet. Natural fact.
