Local child that attends Belmar Elementary school has died. Cousin on life support. Please please please don’t let your loved ones swim without lifeguards present
#4 A building can’t perform a rescue. The money would be better spent on a skeleton crew of pre season, only on nice day lifeguards.
Unfortunatly the same thing may happen at 5:00 PM when the lifeguards go off duty. The Boro should continue taking beach badges and manning lifeguard stations until 6:30 particularly on nice days.
There was a double rescue (via surfer) of two persons in the water at 16th on 05/31/2017. Both were dragged out of the water and survived but were unable to even sit up. It was at 2:55 pm that day. Luckily, a surfer was right there (I was told.) or both would have died. 16th has a good surf break. There are too many cops and too few lifeguards cruising the oceanfront in 4-wheelers. I shot a few hundred pics of the incident. I arrived soon after both persons had been pulled ashore.
Were guards on the beach Memorial Day? Some where there is a law that informs who should be where and when.I remember when the beaches were chained shut after the guards left. Most obeyed it others didn’t. The worst is all of the people without badges sit and wait for the guards to leave so they can swim.

Why isn’t the public safety building open yet?

Ocean ave is so jam packed on weekends, be hard to get emergency vehicles through
Where were the red flags

#10 I agree -when the lifeguards are gone for the day the red flags should fly.
Also the signs say Swim at Your Own Risk and not Swimming Prohibited when lifeguards are off duty
prayers to the families.
