Everything is fine in belmar
Yes all is well. Let’s wait a month or two
Yeah…the busiest time of the year for the town and our council is too busy to meet.
I shake my head and wonder.
If vendors have a “net 30” clause in their contracts, how does Belmar do business ? Is the borough paying vendors prior to voting on these payments ???
The loading up of the early June agenda was a tip-off. Force through lots of stuff, then go into hiding. They know what’s best for Belmar.
Is there anyway to find out how are town stacks up with the rest of the state for cancelling meetings ?
Manasquan no cancellations or postponements in 2017.
Sea Girt no cancellations or postponements in 2017.
Spring Lake no cancellations or postponements in 2017.
Avon no cancellations or postponements in 2017.
Bradley Beach no cancellations or postponements in 2017.
Yes #4, It’s the infamous “Jim Bean Rule” !
Walsifer should ask that question but he won’t.
I’m waiting until 07:00 PM tonight before reading the alert.
8 – Walsifer who?
#10 What’s one lone guy to do? At least make some noise or wait like an artful serpent to strike at the right moment.
They don’t want meetings scheduled because they have to recuse themselves from voting due to influence peddling Pay-to-Play violations.
Even those who donate despite knowing Belmar’s strict Pay-to-Play Ordinance can’t get their agenda through because the peddling backfired.
For those individuals who have received the wrath of our vulnerable leader take a look at the wettest vs driest addresses in Belmar. Underground springs determine the wealth of your property. All Real Estate Professionals know where the high water table, high streets and underground springs are located.
We’re you bamboozled by the lure of better Belmar’s future by your Real Estate Professional?
#7 The facts say it all. Other local towns are on the up and up and Belmar is not. Council meetings should never be messed with, especially not during the busiest time of year.
The people have a right to know what is going on around town. Belmar must be much more open and accountable. And it must stop cramming more bars into this tiny town
If the council members that are involved in the lawsuit were smart they should be talking to the Prosecutor. The odds are against all being found innocent, and Matt will not protect them.
From #15 “The odds are against all being found innocent, and Matt will not protect them.”
This reminds of the mayor’s statement to south end residents who are complaining about noise and disruption by bar patrons: They knew what they were getting into when they bought property in that neighborhood. Council members should be able to recognize whom they “work for”, and I don’t mean borough residents. Why complain when those council members may be found to be complicit in certain activities.
#16 You are right and if they are found guilty they will live in a new neighborhood and be told what to do instead of the other way around.
And it is not Mr. Rodger’s Neighborhood! Although real justice would be a long shot, in my opinion. “Just following orders” is a lame excuse.
With the drowning the town is in crisis and the council is MIA with this cancelled meeting. Truly irresponsible. We need leadership that is present, reliable, honest and that steps up every month to listen to the people of belmar
#19, Why don’t you run, because that is the absolute truth. We need leaders not bar flies.
