1 – He tried to sell mortgages, like all of the other careers that he tried. I guess he is now trying a real job, that is if you call a hand picked political patronage position a job.
If a document showing an office of Chef’s as a guarantor for the Mayor’s mortgage, it is over… That would be very compelling evidence… Hopefully this document can be produced….
Having read both the complaint and this article I find that a lot of the issues raised are criminal. If true, the fact that Doherty secured a mortgage from a developer and liquor license holder in town means he should go to jail. The police dept and former chief are corrupt as well as the council and business administrator. I hope some responsible law enforcement agency investigates this. My family, friends and neighbors are sick and tired of all this negative publicity brought to our town. It will not be forgotten come November.
Like I keep saying, I believe everything in the complaint… But proving all this will be very difficult, unless they have compelling evidence…. Furthermore they can be putting thier other business at risk… There is an old saying, sometimes its not worth being right….
#6- Well it won’t be the MCPO investigating him. He keeps giving them life after retirement jobs. Maybe NJ State DOJ. Oops, he just got a job with the state. FBI’s too busy reading facebook and some Russian thing. The Harmons’ will settle out of court and the taxpayers will be footing the bill. Case closed. $2M paid by insurance. Taxpayers will pay for lawyers and increase in insurance premiums.
#12…. You are the voice of reason… What you stated is pretty much right on… In the discovery process, if there is evidence, they will settle out of court…
I’m really angry that Pat Roddy’s livelihood is on the line. Let’s get out and support Pat, a Belmar resident since childhood, who wants to make a living expressing himself artistically and entertaining the people in his own community. Belmar patriots should support Pat Roddy!!
Aileen your sentiments are echoing far and wide. We have to rectify the wrongs and support our good people who have given to us in so many ways. Here’s to The Roddys and the Harmons.
They effectively have blacklisted their very own constituents. Hopefully the public will not be blind to the very real dangerous precedent that may be permanently imprinted on Belmar under the guise of political affiliation.
#19 is right I say boycott the Marina Grill / Anchor , if they want to black ball a True Belmartian and Person who is always there for any local charity then we should Black Ball Them !!!

“A guarantor would not normally appear on a mortgage document.”
Matt knows that. He used to sell mortgages.
Good work by George Woolston

Exactly he would know that.
And the fact the plaintiffs added that in their claim is HUGE, it’s not something they would throw out there for a tabloid affect.
But you would think his wife makes enough $$ to hold her own.

Tit!e defect now since the public denial?
The document should be able to see if Chef’s is a straw buyer, that is illegal or is it money laundering??
I bet the mortgage documents mysteriously disappear at the bank.
Someone should notify channel 4 or 7 news investigative reporters. They dig deep.

#6 The democrats will get back in office. #11 You are showing your sides again. The town may have to declare bankruptcy.
Which NJ government agency is not tainted?

Will dine at the Boathouse to show support for the Harmons.
Looks like they are on track to win this lawsuit.

Great way to support them and to maybe not dine elsewhere not mentioning any names !!!
The named collaborations should not be worthy of your patronage. They were willing to let others drown remember.

I do not patronize Djais and any other establishment that supports this bunch.
