Messenger Impact Far Cry From Last Time

In 2014, when Jim Bean ran against Matt, there were a couple of hundred messenger ballots turned in.  You can see them here.  This year there were forty…the decrease due in no small part to Declan O’Scanlon’s reform which changed the limit for each messenger to three votes.  Previously it was ten.

Here is the log of all hand delivered ballots brought to Freehold this year.

The messenger ballot votes are the ones where the right column is filled in.  The others are people delivering their own ballots.  The redacted entries are from towns other than Belmar.

Here is a report supplied by Freehold of specifically the messenger ballots received from Belmar this year.

You guys can go through it and pick out the D’Jais guys but I think there are a lot fewer than last time and to make up for being limited to three ballots each they would have needed more messengers, not fewer.

Maybe with the bill extending the season for them that will be signed by Murphy they already got what they wanted and were just going through the motions this time.
