Look at that big tent top in the rear of the building, I think that covers an outdoor bar. What board approved that expansion of their building use and liquor license? None!

#5 Wrong! The town can crack down on liquor licenses…look at Parker House! The laws on the books need to be enforced. They should not be able to crowd the sidewalk so people can’t get by, and noise ordinances exist for a reason. The outside bar was an expansion of a non-conforming use and should have been in front of the zoning board. If this was not the case, it’s illegal and should be shut down. Walsifer and his posse need to have what it takes to stand up to Frank and Co. Unfortunately, that will never happen!

The allowance of semi-permanent tent structures in the back of djais were written into their liquor license by the former administration but there was never any approval of an outdoor bar / expansion.

Noise violations in plain view of police stationed at the corner. Blocking the sidewalk with the line eager to pay their cash $ cash $ cash $ cover charges. Does djais pay tax on cover charges as income?

I wonder when the huge orange truck sized generator will be installed as usual on the 18th ave side of Djais. Is that thing legal or was a permit secured?

The hope was that with a Mayor and Town Council Member finally elected who live in the area of D’jais which former Mayor Pringle once perfectly described as “The Magnet For The Mayhem” that something would finally be done to get the 3 owners to comply with the laws on the books and control their guests. Wishful, naive thinking.

  13. The generator (because of inadequate power in the overcrowded bar) was always a code violation because it stuck out into the town’s right of way and sidewalk. But code violations abound there including no ADA compliance. The bar capacity at 700 has been stretched way beyond reasonable safe conditions. Not sure how the owners get away with it year after year.
