The biggest failure of the current administrations fulfillment on the original Seaport Redevelopment was not following through on parking. Now their first move to extend the redevelopment to Marina and Maclearie further exasperates the continued failure. Now ad the “downtown redevelopment”.
Stupid is as stupid does. Stupid is as the residents allow.

#3 you are correct unfortunately Red Bank and Point Pleasant to name a few have great downtowns because they have parking lots unfortunately Belmar is very small in square miles its almost like putting a round peg in a square hole.

Anyone foresee a multi-level parking garage constructed at the former Acme Market site? Although I do not think the residents should pay through taxes or using loan money for visitors to park while frequenting various establishments in town, that makes some sense to me, instead of destroying trees and a lovely park area and creating impervious pavement near the water.

Elemental i believe the Acme space has been leased to be a physical therapy rehab site. The only possibilities would be behind the municipal building in a L shape or over the existing plaza lot an engineering study to see if the existing ground can support it and the construction is going to take time and $$$ a bond issue amount could be less IF we get a federal and state grant to build.

What is wrong with you people? A parking garage really? How about throwing this bum of a mayor out and his buddies on council. Then firing that incompetent administrator. While we’re at it clip the wings of that horror Djais and send that asshole Djais drunkard who posts here with them all.

10 Bill I think he or she was offering a solution to the many that complain there is no parking in view of the new restaurant and vacancies on Main st. I would think anything of this expense would have to go to a referendum.
