The amount of money the town loses on this festival is enormous.I say just mail checks to the local vendors and save us the traffic headaches.We also pay each band how much to play?
Yep, we humans have a knack of taking things too far and this event is case in point. It was/is DOA since Matt & Co. pulled that stunt 2-3 years ago and almost destroyed the town. Hopefully, this will be the last year for the Seafood festival.
Use all the massive amounts of money WE are going to make to pay our 1.4 million dollar tax hike . Or OUR 35 million dollar debt! SEAFOOD FEST every weekend until it’s paid off !

put the Porta-Poties in the 3 Brewery truck bays to handle overflow … much better than historic placement in-front of a resident’s home
#4 People will be happy when the town fathers/mothers take control and eliminate all the BS. Seafood festival is a waste of taxpayers money.
We don’t need the Seafood Festival…eliminate it and reinvent a smaller version in a few years. It belongs in Asbury Park
8th Ave is closed off 35 South and traffic over the bridge is backed up into Neptune already (it’s 5:00pm). Can only make the left onto 10th. My advice is to take a long way and somehow go down Ocean Avenue if you need to get anywhere this weekend.
I like the seafood festival and hope the town continues to host it.
I wonder who put these two to write this letter and who really funded it? Very amateurish.

Have it on the fifth avenue beach.
#12 and how will people with strollers, wheelchairs, etc move around on the beach? It would also be difficult for vendors. Can’t have it on the beach
This thing has got to cost us $100k. Put in Doherty terms, about 12.8 cents per day for the average homeowner of a property accessed at $500k. When put into these terms it insinuates that the average resident is a moron. What do you think Average Joe?
With police overtime and dump trash fees easily a high 100K loser event.
Public safety?? People eating on cement blocks as cars pass by..same goes for Main St. All it takes is ONE distracted/inebriated driver or someone to dart out into oncoming traffic. Overcrowding in confined space,what if large fight broke out/fire/ or mass shooting? Hmmmmm?
How could you have a fire with propane tanks everywhere.There is a lot liability with Propane gas.
Walking south on Main St..Usual bunch of skateboarders doing tricks on 6th Ave benches next to boro hall…One of the skateboarders had words with passenger of car heading south..Gave the passenger middle finger, next thing tempers flare passenger gets out ready to beat up the skateboarder…Why don’t the police do anything ? Give the skateboarders one warning, next time confiscate the skateboards..This has been going on for years!!
I’m not exactly in love with a lot of these kids(a lot of kids’ve got a wise mouth on them) but I’ve got nothing against them skateboarding. At least they’re outdoors for a bit.
