Right about Matt. Disagree about Brian. Guess we’ll find out soon enough, maybe in tomorrow’s Star.

Thank God Brian stood up for himself as well as residents and visitors who come to Belmar. He voted against raising the Ocean Avenue metered parking to $2 per hour. Obviously he knows the history of Belmar’s beach utility and the consequences for violating that Trust.

I’m overwhelmed and stunned by the document’s detail, angered by the blatant fiscal manipulation/mismanagement alleged to be routinely (and brazenly) practiced by our Mayor and Council, and grateful to those individuals who have stepped forward on behalf of Belmar. I use the word “alleged” but there is no doubt in my mind of the truth here .. sometimes validated by the Mayor and Council member’s own words. I hope to see legal validation and resolve of this resident/advocacy action in a reasonable amount of time, but I have to admit another more personal reaction to this mess. What is Belmar’s current debt level and actual solvency? When taxes are adjusted (presuming the Mayor’s Borough budget is contingent on slight of hand and mirrors)will I still be able to afford to live in Belmar? Despite those concerns I want to see Belmar thrive in the “right” way, and for neighbors to know they’re not powerless nor should they feel hopeless in a bullying environment.

On an earthier note, “Throw (vote) the bums out.” Or get them impeached or something.

Now if D’Jais wants to do something worthwhile for the Borough of Belmar, they should host a huge “Bail out Belmar” fundraiser, much of the funds going to legal fees. They can give out orange t-shirts with some nonsense slogan, like, “We thought it was legal” or “Too big to fail”.
