Cracks are OK. Make the seagulls illegal. I never had someone’s butt crack eat my lunch. Not yet at least.

There was a tent today on 20th that fell down. It was way too windy. My other complaint is they take up too much room and half the time the people don’t even use them.

My objection is that they block everyone’s view of the ocean. Karen and I were already there and these folks came and put that thing up right in front of us. If they want to use a tent it should be set up well back from the water.

Avon’s residents packed town hall at last council meeting to voice their concerns about tents, hot plates, burners, coolers, booze on the beach.
Mayor listened to their concerns and immediately banned tents on the beach for remainingu summer season and thereof.
Next on the agenda will be the
    coolers(packed with booze/sodas).
Spring Lake bans coolers on the beach..
coolers can be left on boardwalk..it
works out fine.. Belmar could ban tents and keep coolers at boardwalk.. Mayor Doherty do you want Belmar beach looking like Woodstock?

Aren’t the tents the Element’s secret meeting places?

There are already laws that prevent certain things, that I see being violated every time I go to the (south end, 16/17/18) beach…the town/mayor/police/beach front needs to enforce the rules….put up a larger list/sign (as was in the past) to inform the beach goers, have the gate attendants knowledgeable of the rules and have them check the people going on the beach, it is that simple…

the common violations I see are:
there are currently rules against coolers over 4 gallons.
    fishing in the swimming area
ball playing (FYI – my kids have been hit by others)
glass containers/ bottles (wife cut her foot 3 years ago on a buried broken Arizona ice tea bottle)

Banning coolers is going too far. That’s like banning cigarettes. Too bad I wasn’t there Dave, I would have told those rude people to move their tent and there probably would have been an altercation.

not only do they block the views of the adults but what about parents like myself who are watching their kids … with the tents vision is obstructed. The beach is for soaking up the sun not blocking it

Dave, Let me suggest a ventriloquism act over the air. You’ll be an overnight sensation. People will be amazed how you switch from one voice to another over the air. You should be on during morning rush hour.

#9 Actually The Element can’t afford them. But they are convenient for smoking, changing clothes, burying garbage and personal matters. All in jest of course. They are a hazard and will eventually cause a problem if they are allowed to stand maybe even a tent city.

I didn’t get the emergency red alert from Jen today but the people who encroached on my driveway told me they couldn’t find parking elsewhere today. So my driveway was inviting. After all they said they were in Belmar because of the free beach advertisement.
