Day after contentious tax increase, Borough truck spotted in front of DPW boss’s house with workers moving furniture. What’s up with that?
Understandably, the photographer couldn’t get a picture of the side of the truck but insists it was a Borough vehicle.

Yes, it was a borough vehicle. Furniture was being moved from the house to a DPW storage area while his house is under construction.
Did he rent a dumpster, or is he using the “moving company’s” dumpster for the remodel?
Do as I say not as I do. I find it difficult(financially) buying aspirins and he gets a free move.
Wait, you are raising our taxes because of unforeseen bills coming in from last year while your trusted department director is using a taxpayer paid building for the storage of his personal property and he is using taxpayer paid vehicles and employees as his personal movers? Hey Mayor and Council, are you listening?
I guess this is his way of saying that he wants to be fired. Maybe he has a new job in Atlantic city with Doherty. No unemployment insurance if one is fired because of his own fault. See, he is not so bad.
I am just shaking my head. People go to jail for this stuff.

I’m shocked that Director Campbell didn’t use “Emergency Road closed, Official Business” cones so those pesky taxpayers wouldn’t interfere with his personal use of the Borough of Belmar’s property and employees.
Could always ask for an explanation at the next meeting or people are left to assume.
Arrogance and Acting are Campbell’s pedigree. Vomit every time the council mentions the crook. He’s duplicitous and all the former law enforcement people on the road know it Belmar Residents.
Many learn the crook trade secrets on the job!

I just looked at the calendar to see if yesterday was April First. This guy must be try to kid us by stealing the services that we the taxpayers are paying for. There’s our tax increase!

I wonder if this was before or after I dropped my child off at school and watched Campbell turn right on red? The “No Turn on Red” signs are very clear at that intersection, and I believe they apply to everyone.
Nothing has and nothing will happen to him. He knows he is completely untouchable!
Hey Mayor, your guy sure did a “GREAT JOB” wasting our tax dollars by abusing his authority and exploiting his employees here, all for his own personal gain. When do We The People get our taxpayer funded moving services?
Fire him. Fire him today. Mayor Walsifer, are you listening? Do not let this guy bring you down with him. Bring him to your office, show him the photos, let him know he’s been let go, and be done with it. You could refill that position before the end of the day. Promote from within or bring in someone else. Your call.
But fire him right now or his behavior and reputation will infect you and your political future. Mark my words.

#14 – Concerned Parent. I too have seen Campbell’s driving technique, and it’s just as bad as your experience seeing him drive recklessly with kids running around at school drop off. I was jogging with my 11 year old daughter and had to stop short with her because he didn’t stop at the stop sign. Now, I don’t mind if he made an almost stop if it was totally clear to go (which means no cars in sight and joggers wouldn’t even have to slow down). But he decided to gun it thru the stop sign and make us stop short. For an 11 year old to witness an official town department head who’s charged with a great responsibility take that risk to her physical safety really sucks.
Nothing will happen to Campbell. “Untouchable” was right in his/her statement, nothing will happen to him. Pictures and all mean nothing, they will come up with a story how it’s all a mistake. And then praise him at the next council meeting.
Unfortunately we have the same kind of problems we did with the previous administration doing shady things behind our (the tax payers) backs.

#23 They all hate the guy. Nobody would volunteer to help him. They used a borough truck. My son the , the CPA, suggest we take an audit of those guys helping and check their time cards. Duh!!

#25 Belmar would get sued and also need to pay for workers compensation – disability. The worker would claim they are not volunteering or they would report that the injury happened doing work somewhere else in town
#23…We’re not attacking Mike Campbell; we’re stating simple facts and/or observations. Perhaps if he was a nicer person, didn’t disregard traffic lights, stop signs, etc, and followed the same rules as everyone else, we could all discuss something more pleasant.

Mike rules with a iron fist he is a fair man he looks out for Belmar’s best interest we all know he can be a jerk sometimes but you have to see it from his perspective if he was easy going every one in town would take advantage of him no matter what he does somebody will find something wrong and not like it Belmar should be proud of the people in charge now they are making everything transparent and putting it out on the table in the open they have a lot of work Ahead of them to fix what the old administration over the years covered up from us and put us in this position this did not happen overnight let’s work together on this and make Belmar great again
There is a lot of What Ifs you can’t go through life thinking what if What if the old administration didn’t put Belmar 30 million in debt there would be no substantial tax increase we need to get out of debt and make it happen

People, this is an indictable offense.
32 – An indictable offence and a misuse of taxpayer money, maybe a small amount of money but it is still a crime. The arrogance of this incident is that it occurred within 24 hours of the taxpayers being hit with a 21.7% tax increase. Nice guy or or not so nice guy, this behavior is not tolerated in today’s day and any good public servant knows this very well. The sad thing is that the employees who were used in this also selfish act could face losing their jobs for their participation.
all public utilities (JCP&L, Verizon, NJNG, Optimum) follow OSHA and place traffic cones in the street to help protect workers.

How does this get to the media? Maybe then something will happen. We all know if it just stays on this blog nothing will happen to the untouchable director. As was shown in a previous post, this director makes over $100,000.00 plus “bonus” checks and now add free use of borough vehicles and labor from us THE TAX PAYERS. The sense of entitlement shown in these pictures is disgusting. I thought we voted for change in our small town.
Gene, I usually agree with you. But that outfit, OSHA is one of the worst fedgov
depts. and the people who work for OSHA are mostly the dregs of society (I mean that only in the best way of course).
