Beer On A New Pier This Year

I know a lot of people like this sort of thing, and I know it’s raising money for a good cause, but are any of you out there feeling the same sort of festival fatigue that I am?

Folks here K, L even as far up as Maplewood complain about no parking nearer Rt.35 just from the overflow from Maclearie and L-Street. Add a beer fest and well! The only thing in Belmar that has no attendance is the 9 hole miniature golf. Can you say record lows.

Every year this thing is touted as the “1st annual.” This must be at least the 5th beer on the pier. Why is it always the “1st annual?”

Dave, it’s all your fault for the irritating “Sitting on the Dock of the A” post last month. Your expose showing the lost of revenue to the dock on K Street resulted in Gee! how can we compensate for the lack of revenue. Shame on you and your exposes.

Who’s paying for this event? Who’s paying for law enforcement personnel and the dpw costs? Oh yeah, let’s just have an event and let tax payers pick up the bill for it!

How much does the town lose on these festivals in police overtime and tipping fees at the dump?
