2/3 of the $3010 collected by the Belmar Democrats so far this year came from the Monroe local. Another $500 came from realty investor Cajetan Salemi. Most of the rest is from John Hutchinson, Barbara Hutchinson and Michele Casserly.

According the the dispersments page they have had a lot of “den meetings”. I hope team Walsifer is out there pressing the flesh and kissing babies. The democratic machine in Belmar is no joke. There is a lot of outside money and influence. Brian is the perfect puppet and Jen is will stab in the back while playing up the fake Pollyanna persona. This will take every registered voter in the town to beat back the DJais ballot stuffing strategy. It is imperative that we ALL vote on 11/6.
1-What a lie about Jen Nicolay! The comment about Jen is outrageous. You probably never met her. She is a kind, generous, loving person who never has a mean thing to say about anyone. What a horrible way to move your political agenda along! I have known Jennifer for many years. She is one of the best people I’ve met during my long life. Jen is loving and kind. Your remark is hurtful. Politics is made ugly because of people like you. From the bottom of my heart, I can honestly say I have never heard Jen say a mean word about anyone. Not even people like you.

#2…Jen may be a kind and loving person, but I know she doesn’t care about how poorly the borough employees are treated. Neither does Brian. And apparently both of them agree with everything Colleen does, and that’s just bad for the town.
She texts Brian when someone is questioning him. I’ve seen her text, put down the phone, and Brian pick up his right after – all while someone is asking questions. She also writes notes to Tom Brennan while people are asking questions. She’s very nice but there is also a streak that comes out – some people (store owners, school admin) have seen it. Nice is nice but I’d rather have integrity.
You are skirting the issue. You said she stabs people in the back. You probably know you posted wrongly about her stabbing people in the back, so you had to come up with another false accusation. I think your remarks are highly exaggerated. I haven’t seen her in the phone at a meeting in years. You have no proof that she is on the phone when she doesn’t like what’s being said. You are playing a mean guessing game, creating scenarios that are not true.. I’m OK with her behavior at the council meetings, and your Criticisms are all over the place. I’m skirting the issue? I believe she is a phony and yes I believe that being phony means you stab people in the back. My criticisms are pretty specific and not all over the place. I recommend you watch the videos of town meeting. Watch when someone challenges Brian (that means someone asks him a simple question). Watch what she does. There is no kindness. There is no attempt at understanding. There is no empathy. There is only disrespect and contempt. She is clearly sending messages to Brian.
It’s behavior that wouldn’t be tolerated in children let alone council people. You say you’re ok with it and that’s fine. I’m not. Frankly, I wouldn’t be ok with it if it was my best friend up there. It’s wrong.

The Salt situation, the pay to play violations, giving away the keys to the castle to Merry Makers, dishonest propaganda surrounding the Taylor pavilion, the violations of the Open Public Meeting Act, the violation of civil rights of Belmar citizens… none of it her fault. I was at a Council meeting with my husband Dave where she/Jennifer and Matt were laughing (and even admitted to it) at my husband (and it’s on tape) I couldn’t believe it these are our leaders and this is how they treat us . And my husband was very serious about what he was talking about he wasn’t trying to be funny or anything, so rude I can tell you that I’m so glad I left Belmar. It’s still beyond me how people in this town still support this Council, they are clueless and delusional in my opinion, and very mean. We are supposed to respect our leaders but we definitely can’t in this town. They are an embarrassment. I hope to God you vote every one of them out except for Mark Walsifer.
#21 I was at that meeting and witnessed what you have described. Very disgusting behavior on the part of the mayor and the council member referred to. I have witnessed many times when she and the former mayor shared many a laugh at the expense of the person at the microphone who expressed some sort of disapproval of their actions and such. Very unprofessional and small-minded. Ms. Nicolay would toss her hair and stare down her nose in disdain. Yuck!

How can anyone honestly defend this administration? They’ve done nothing but line their own pockets and used the people of belmar and our way of life to climb through the corrupt political systems of this state. 18 & 16 seem to think that Jen was genuinely fooled into doing the things she has done as a council person. They seem to believe that she committed those, unethical at best and illegal at worst, acts without knowing it. #18-to answer your question- yes, if someone is a phony, they will stab you in the back eventually. And if someone one stabs you in the back after smiling in your face, it means that they are a phony. That is the parallel you are asking about. I hope that clears it up for you.
Now, did Jen do some nice things for the town? Absolutely. But any good she has done is erased by the acts of dishonesty and corruption she has committed for the ego-maniac that used to be mayor. There’s a word that describes politicians that do that kind of stuff: phony.

She lied about not knowing about the helicopter that landed at Silver Lake, she violated the civil rights of a group Belmar citizens (judge ruled), she stood by while Matt lied about the Pavilion bond and the outflow pipe in lake como (not calling that out for the lie that it was is the same as lying) she lied about violating the OPMAct. Those are just a few examples. All are public record, all can be verified. Look into it. She can go on being a great person in the private sector (Brian too) They have violated the public trust and don’t deserve to be on the council. Sorry.

Coattails & deals is not my view of being an Ethical Belmar representative with Integrity. Taking a hit for the team regarding Jen and Janice’s unconscionable NO vote on Salt with, cockamaymie reasons, was deceptive at the very least. We paced the distances from Senior building,while live music was being played before the hearing and, as reported on this blog,Anchor & Burrito eere much closer to that Senior building as distance and sound traveled than Salt.So either there was monkey business afoot or flat out duplicity between the 2 family council members voting. You figure it out.

Jennifer Nicolay is an outstanding resident and councilwoman. She deserves to be re-elected. She has been the highest vote-getter whenever she runs for office. Voters appreciate her as a council person.
45 it’s easy to ignore these things when you have a personal connection to someone. All the things said about Jen as a council person are easily researched. I recommend you take the time to look into it but understand if you are hesitant because she’s a friend But ignoring the evidence is not healthy. She may be a great friend to you but she has done some things on the council that make it impossible to trust her.

You mean likeher beautiful mini golf course situated on a dangerously crazy, flood prone highway for your precious little ones to enjoy after crossing the highway because there’s no parking near by?
#50- Yes. That far outweighs the violations that are literally costing tax payers millions of dollars. Plus she’s also very sweet. And as long as your seeet, you can do whatever you want.
50-Parents don’t need to have their children cross the highway to get to the mini golf course. They can drive under the bridge and enter the area that way. Parking is available in the spaces nearest the golf course. Let’s not create a problem which does exist to put Jennifer in a bad light. The golf course is a nice spot for summer time recreation for children . Let’s not paint it with an unpleasant brush.I’ve taken children there many times and never had a parking problem. Have you ever been there, #50? If not, how can you speak to the situation?

Mayor Magoo and Nicolay are posting away on Facebook about how they were “helping” during the storm, another storm politicized just in time for the election. What a disgrace and slap in the face to us as residents. They were nowhere to be found in the forgotten Rhode Island Point section of town.

The Administration treats Rhode Island Point and its residents as the poor step child in Belmar.
#55-I know that the mayor and council were extremely attentive during Hurricane Sandy to residents of Rhode Island Point due to the river rising during the storm. My family and I evacuated to a relative’s home inland. I received regular communications from council members including Mayor Doherty and Councilman Magovern. Presently police have been present in our neighborhood due to flooding . Yes, we’re part of the community and we have had attention given to us by government officials and the police during weather emergencies.
#58…all the residents received regular communication during Sandy, but there really was not much attention given to Rhode Island Point. I’ve lived here for decades, and this side of town has never been as neglected as it has been in the last 8 years.
#59-Sorry, I disagree. My family and I have lived on Rhode Island Point for nearly 60 years. We have always felt part of the community, and have received help from the borough when needed. Yes, communications before, during and after Sandy were great. I’ve seen street repair in this area on a regular basis. I’ve seen police on bicycles in the summer. Signs are placed on 16th Ave near my home that say 25 mile an hour speed limit. Frankly, I’ve always been pleased with living on Rhode Island Point. I could list many more things, but I think you get the idea.
