It should be noted that the first payroll of 2016 fell on January 1, 2016, a holiday, and so was paid December 31, 2015. The pay amounts for that period were included in the 2015 report published here last year so this year’s report actually begins with the second payroll.

Cronyism pays. If only our current POTUS could trim this down and make the necessary cuts.
Nepotism is alive and well in Belmar.
#2 – Nepotism isn’t all bad. If the person is competent. But in a situation with government and there being no tangible end to the days work, it usually becomes a dumping ground for those elements of a family that obviously couldn’t make it in the private sector.
It’s official… it’s a “free for all” !!! Just make up overtime and create any extra work or shifts for whenever you need money. Who cares, no one is watching or stopping it.
….and don’t tell me it is all justified, because if you say it is, then the place is totally mismanaged from top to bottom. People should be fired for these high salaries in a small town that does nothing like Belmar.
$183K for the DPW director? Isn’t he also collecting a pension on top of that? wow!
I think that’s his son’s pay.
Hey, Mr. Mayor, did someone from DPW finally shovel your sidewalk on our dime after the last snow storm? Just asking, as the borough actually owns the sidewalk…
Do your self a favor. Scroll through the names really slow and notice how many of the same last names there are! Sickening..
#3 – Like XX that was hired with drug possession charges!
IT’S TRILL GATES! Microsoft founder Bill Gates set to become the world’s first TRILLIONAIRE despite efforts to give his fortune away

I know this is off subject but Bill Gates’ family must be ashamed. There’s a dirty little secret in the Gates family. Did you know, he never earned a college degree???
Dave, we can’t even use initials? Censoring us finally in 2017?
How many Belmar employees have those initials?
colleen and matt are doing a terrible time managing our town. overtime is way out of control. disgusting.
When your goal is to buy a house you schedule your own OT even if you are exempt as superior officer.
#11- How much would you estimate XX made last year??
These salaries are alarming and should disturb every property owner in town.
Lots of high six figure salaries for PD . Wow
#10 …. Bill Gates didn’t let school get in the way of his education.
RYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRY
btw-
looks like Borough employees can afford to live on Inlet Terrace.
#9 BELMARGUY………Trust and believe XX is not the only one working for the town with drug possession charges and or a drug addiction,DUI,etc trying to buy a house, new car, vacation and just keeping up with the Jones’s.Belmar residents would be sickened if they only knew the half of what goes on and gets swept under the carpet. They would have to fire half the DPW and some PD too.
It has been obvious to me our town is being mismanaged. The waste ,nepotism and disregard for our well being in favor of self promotion is overwhelming.
The payroll speaks for itself. Recently I had asked for impact studies on the recent major subdivisions built on main street and at the foot of the bridge. Has anyone ever seen one? Are you happy with traffic even in winter or parking even in winter. THe mayor should be ashamed of himself the town is not in line with the costs to live here.
Another bugaboo of mine is why are commercial plates allowed to park on our streets over night I doubt it’s allowed in surrounding towns. I live on 11th ave and it’s insulting to have open pick up trucks parked on my street regularly filled with landscaping debris over night or a dumptruck or air conditioning trucks at least two or three parked at night and weekends on E Street between 10th and 11th. But let my R.E taxes go up why not the mayor needs to meet his bloated payroll. Last but certainly not least is Belmar a sanctuary city it seems to me it is

#18 – I’ve always liked that from Mark Twain. It’s a pity our children aren’t allowed to read his books anymore.

#19 – Of course, but I don’t have a problem with drug use. I have a problem with all this running around like nuts trying to stop people from using drugs. Drug use is like any other habit. If you can keep it under control (as many people do) then I’m all for it, just like people drinking. How many people in this world have drank themselves to death? It’s not nice but it is a fact of life.
Irish town, many similar last names. Also if this is including camp counselors and badge checkers, I can see why some of the same last names. Usually most VOLUNTEERS for the town are family and friends of those who work for the town so it makes sense that there would be some of those same individuals who do small jobs here and there. Not many of those duplicate last names have salaries that are exorbitant – besides one that has already been mentioned in this thread.
Our PD deserves extraordinary risk salaries, especially since not all calls are in Belmar but neighborhoods nearby when assistance is needed and they can’t say no because it’s too dangerous of a call.
Also, are you sure this is only salary? Not possible that there’s reimbursements included? What did Fran Hines’ kid do that he got a salary – isn’t he under age?
