Very proud of the belmar police department, reading through these calls you could see what they deal with and they all handle each situation with respect and compassion, I even saw one officer was kind enough to help a women who needed an Uber but her cell phone died so he used his to get her home safe. Little acts of kindness go along way. Very lucky to be in the hands of this amazing police department

#3 I agree. The life of a police officer is not an easy one in today’s world. I suggest to all those who want to defund the police to ride with a cop for one shift, see what they have to deal with. Then maybe they would have more respect for them and think twice about holding signs to defund the police.

Another time the hands of Law Enforcement came out from AG’s office. He’s invalidating defiant protest and “religious” gatherings charges filed during Covid-19 lockdown. Those Montclair + individuals who, without permits, unlawfully assembled on Pt Beach recently can thumb their noses at Law Enforcement and, in particular Point Beach Mayor. Here comes the 2020 Fall Lockdown.

Remember Tunsia’s “I don’t like law Enforcement cries” years ago? Think about that never ending wave.

#5— I was simply praising our police department for doing such a great job. The police can’t change the circumstances that exist and are lawfully here, D’Jais, Mayfair hotel, and all the animal houses that are designated are creating a problem—— but the police can’t change any of those things, redevelopment can to rid the borough of these places, greedy summer landlords could assist in the problem to

I support the police 100%, but at the same time understand they’re mis-educated, inexperience people for the most part who have been raised to live the [new manner of living] and are apt to make wrong, illogical decisions under any stress. So you have to bear that in mind.

9-Wrong on all counts. Policemen of today are educated and well-prepared to take on the responsibilities put before them. They receive practical training at police academies and generally look at all aspects of a given situation. Where do you get your information,# 9? It’s been my experience with the Belmar Police that they are intelligent, practical and use discretion when dealing with a situation. What is the New manner of living? How can you state that you support the police 100%, then pose criticisms that have no merit? My family has had to call on the police over the years for assistance. They have been thorough and came up with intelligent decisions to deal with our situations put before them. These caring officers were young and demonstrated a sense of duty that I truly admired.

We had a problem that was solved by the Belmar Police. Then the officer who helped us followed up a day later to check to see if all was OK. Better than that you cannot ask for.

None of which #9 posted is true. Police are miseducated and inexperienced? Really? Officers have been trained to assess situations and make intelligent decisions based on evidence, reactions of people involved, and facts. We support our Belmar police staff without reservation. # 9 suggested that an officer can react inappropriately under stress. The biggest untruth of his commentary. I’ve been around a very long time, have been around police for various reasons, and never, ever have I observed one who responded/acted in a stressful manner.

#s 12&13 – Yes, of course, the police can do the job of small town constabulary in a measured way and they’re mostly nice. However, if things get a bit nasty, they’d be out of their league (not every one of them of course). All I’m doing is acknowledging that fact. Also, I am sworn to protect our constitution (my oath is just shy of 60 yrs. old) just like they are and if I was ever present when they were in a jam, I would most definitely assist them even at my age.

#14 & 15- Sirs, you left out the I included minorities and foreigners. Just the other day the governor of Florida did say it was the Hispanic workers who were the reason for the spike in Covid-19 cases.
    ——————————
Obviously there is an enhanced flu going around. But what makes everything a hoax is the government knew all along the three groups largely affected, the obese, foreigners/minorities and people already with preexisting illnesses and degraded immune systems (old people in old age homes), yet went ahead and shut the economy down. All this is a drill to test the young people, especially millennials as to how effective there conditioning is. How well all the propaganda they live with daily has worked on them. I am truly shocked to see people even my age and older have been taken in by this immense flim-flam.

I strongly support the police and would never think of defunding this organization…. However, unfortunately there are individuals that are on the job that should be removed…. Its a very small percentage but some of them are not suited for this profession…. But with UNION in place it makes it very difficult to terminate an officers employment….

That call log post- what do you think it costs us taxpayers to make sure the cops are available to respond to all that? What training, what cars, what gear? It’s a fraction of what we spend on our departments.

Now, let’s think about why the calls exist? Defunding the police is a terrible choice of words, used during a time of grief and anger. But what it really means is Relieve the Police. Relieve them of many of societal ills that we should fix ourselves. I bet many of you can think of ways to make most of those police calls on that sheet go away, making the cop’s job easier.

We throw all our problems at cops instead of tackling them ourselves.
