For those of you who didn’t look at the lawsuit documents or didn’t scroll far enough down:
A lot of bills, most of them really old. And why aren’t there any in the 91-120 column? Did we have no work for them in April of 2013? Were we COD that month? Also, as a commenter has already noted, very few of these are beach related, yet the $925,000 settlement was paid by the beach utility:
Can we do that?

I can get much more valuable information about Belmar on that other guy’s blog, like which boil he’s having removed, or how to try to diminish people, or even how to send him money. Do you really think readers are interested in how the borough spends their money? I’m going to go read about breakfast at the station.
To all our council who read this blog (which I sure hope is all of you, otherwise you would never know whats going on), I ask you, How do you justify these payments being written off entirely against the beach utility? Most are unrelated. Of course it means one of two things, either you never even looked at the bills to be paid before you voted to pay this settlement, or you are complicit in voting to pay for it incorrectly if not illegally. Aren’t you tired of learning whats going on AFTER it happens? Aren’t you the least bit annoyed or even ashamed? How many times do you have to be embarrassed in the press and at meetings before you WAKE UP?
#2 Katrina they don’t care!!! They have the backers, and are following the Obama and Hillary playbook “what difference does it make!”
That’s what arrogance is all about. The shame of it all is that the people continue to vote these scoundrels in!!
#3. Personally, I have never found Council President Magovern to be “arrogant”, only misguided.
Sorry Ted when a group of people purposely pass an ordnance to favor a company which must raise labor rates and propose a pavilion project that was exceeding expensive and a judge had to step in that is arrogance!
I want to know what improvements were made to Lake Como for 70,000.00? Or that’s right Silver Lakes gets everything. I look out at a pile of dirt everyday on what was grass at one time. It a total mess at Lake Como. Drive by and tell me where all the money spent went. Silver lake got all the improvement. Lake Como is a second thought.
Teddy not sure if you go to meetings. If you don’t then watch some of the Videos that Dave tapes. Everything is yes and never No. They pass everything.
#4 and #7 Arrogant is attributed to individuals ie: “exaggeration of one’s self worth or importance. If the council as you contend consistently make
poor decisions that is not arrogance.
Brian Magovern: answers questions, is respectful in his communications with the voters, looks you in the eye. In his words and his body language-no sign of arrogance. So we will disagree. Your logic ascribing arrogance to an entire governing body

BTW, I must correct something I said up above. I said very few the bills were beach related but actually the beach ones were very high and accounted for over half a million dollars total. Still, less than half the entire $1.3 mil.
Ted we can agree to disagree, they obviously take great pride in doing what THEY want to do, NOT what is fiscally in the best interest of Belmar. The only people that ARE misguided is the 1000 plus people that voted them in!
Still the question remains were the invoices submitted to FEMA for reimbursement? At least those before Sandy.
