He was asked by Chris Wallace (a Fox News personality), during a prime time presidential debates, to denounce white supremacists. He wouldn’t. Joe Biden was asked the SAME thing. He would. I can honestly say that if I was running for president of the United States, you could ask me to denounce white supremacy a million times and I would happily do so every single time. That full quote you cited in prior post is well known. I’ve seen it many times. It is text book equivocation. If he didn’t equivocate, he wouldn’t have to keep clarifying. You of all people should know that. You have spent countless hours exposing local politicians for the frauds that they are. Yet you support the biggest fraud in American history. It makes no sense to me. Biden has unequivocally denounced racism and violence in ALL its forms. Somehow you think that Antifa gets ‘cheapened’ by lumping it in with all violence? I honestly don’t know what that even means. Violence is violence.
I’ll get you the Biden condemning Antifa as well as all violence and property damage. Why that needs to be seen in order for you to admit that not condemning white supremacy is objectively bad, I’ll never know.

#21 Good lord, where to begin. Obama came into power during the worst recession in generations. Plural. The economy has been improving steadily and the unemployment has been decreasing since 2009. Those are factual numbers that you can look up. Here’s another factual number that you can look up: Trump produced 6.9 million jobs in his first 36 months in office. Those are pre CoVID numbers so a great deal of those jobs have been erased since then but we won’t factor those losses in. Impressive. In Obama’s last three years in office he created 8.1 million jobs. More impressive.
I’m squarely in the middle class. My taxes under Obama were actually less than with Trump. Two reasons: the first is that I don’t make enough money to benefit from the Trump tax reform. Not even close. The second is the fact that the Trump tax reform he reduced the amount of property tax we can deduct. So yea, I pay more under Trump. Which bothers me more now that I know (I always knew) that HE doesn’t pay his taxes. Now his fans may say ‘well that’s because he’s smart’. I disagree. I think it’s because he’s greedy. That money that he’s so brilliantly not paying goes to veterans, cops, firefighters, military personnel, teachers, etc etc.
There is no rational defense of Donald Trump. He is a pig, a liar, philanderer, misogynist, crook, narcissist, coward, bad businessman (by any measure), dim, ill informed, unfit, draft dodger, buffoon, and hypocritical. If he had a (d) next to his name you would all be horrified by this man. It’s time to wake up and join the growing number of Republicans (especially those from his own staff!) that have had it with this president and his desire to destroy this great country in order to serve his own selfish needs.

#30. Hahaha. ‘Fake news’ the Trump supporter’s version of the bratty 4 year old who puts his fingers in his ears and yells ‘lalalalalalala’ rather than hear uncomfortable truths. It’s classic.
I was explaining something I saw with my eyes. Wallace asked both candidates to disavow white supremacy. Trump wouldn’t. You can watch it yourself if you like. Now the part about being a black man and watching the debate with your children; that’s called a hypothetical situation. You’ve heard that word hypothetical, yes? So, as you are probably aware, it is an imaginary situation that is often used as a device to illicit empathy. It is used for people who have a difficult time feeling empathy towards others because it helps simplify things. I’m assuming you know what the word empathy means.
In the hypothetical situation I used, I was trying to get Trump supports to try and imagine what it must have been like to watch that and be a black person. Let’s try again.
You are a black father and you have three children. There is an important Presidential debate on TV and you feel it’s important enough to watch with your children. At one point, the moderator asks both candidates to condemn white supremacy. It’s not a far fetched question after all. The directors of the FBI and HLS both recently testified to congress that white supremacist groups are the biggest domestic terrorism threat we currently face (you can watch both testimonies with your eyes so you don’t use your fake news excuse). So as a black man sitting with your black family watching two men vie for the most important job in the country, you probably start to pay attention. Then, the man who actually holds that job refuses to condemn white supremacy. He won’t do it. Instead he tells a known far right, neo-fascist, all male, with ties to, you guessed it, white supremacy extremist group to ‘stand back and stand by’.
Now here you are, a black father of black children, and your president not only refused to do the easiest thing in the world to do, he also told a dangerous, violent group to stand by.
Full disclosure, Trump did finally disavow white supremacy two days later after some rather serious pressure from his own party but the damage was done.
I think it’s fair to say that you would be upset and scared. And it would be a difficult job to look your children in the eye and tell them that everything will be ok. Hopefully that hypothetical scenario helps you understand, and employ, empathy.
In conclusion- fake news is information, delivered as ‘news’ that is not factual. Think tweets from Trump or things that come out of his mouth.
I hope this lesson has helped.
I also hope for a speedy recovery for the man who is currently in a fake hospital after being afflicted with a fake virus.

Second- The Black father in my HYPOTHETICAL (please look up the word)situation was upset and scared because the president of the united states refused to disavow white supremacists. I’m sure even your mind can grasp how that might be troubling.
Lastly, Trump hasn’t done a thing for black people. The black unemployment rate has been falling since 2011. That’s six years before Trump took office. It has only continued to fall. The rate of decrease has not improved under Trump, it has just kept pace (these are numbers that you can research). So Trump bragging about that is like someone driving over a bridge and then taking credit for building it. You would never allow a different politician to do that. Never.
The COVID pandemic has disproportionately affected black people more than white people. And considering that we are the worlds wealthiest nation that has the unimaginable distinction of leading the world in deaths per capita; I’d say, using his favorite word, this president has been a disaster.

My wife and I moved to Belmar permanently in January 2011, and have attended Belmar Council meetings on a regular basis….if all of Common Sense For Belmar readers attended the Council meetings you would all be voting for Jerry Buccafusco for Council. Jerry has consistently examined financial and legal issues that arise frequently and questioned the Belmar Council on its reasoning. While I appreciate the time and effort that Tom Brennan has put forth, it is time for a change. Jerry will let the citizens of Belmar know what is going on and be a voice for the betterment of Belmar. It should not matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican, we need to vote for someone who can make a difference, and that person is Jerry.

But your vote is needed, or this will not happen…just vote for Jerry… please.

And if you wonder how can one Independent like Jerry can possibly make a difference, this is how: Jerry will inform Belmar residents with communications about what is actually happening in our town….we have the communications resources readily available, including readers of Common Sense For Belmar, Facebook groups such as Belmar Locals, Belmar Locals Only, and Belmar/Lake Como/West Belmar Residents. Because of this, all residents will know what is going on in Belmar, what is good, and what could be improved.
