68 vote loss to Doherty by people actually voting at the polls speaks volumes about what residents really want and more importantly need in Belmar. Seebeck lost by 36 votes in spite of D’Jais unethical use of authorized messengers to control the election outcome. Seems like there will be zoning changes on Ocean Avenue to allow year round liquor sales. Bars, bars everywhere there are bars. Belmar is back, let’s party.

Lots of profit in alcohol, not so much in food. It is going to really suck in Belmar. That’s what the majority wants, so be it. I wonder if there will be lines of porta-potties along the boardwalk so folks do not urinate on cars and lawns like in the “old days”. No more peaceful, contemplative strolls by the beach here. The mayor doesn’t care – he lives on quiet Inlet Terrace.

I for one will be watching zoning on Ocean ave very carefully. I don’t see any need to change zoning on Ocean ave. This is not the 80’s
