I managed a couple of quick snapshots of the site plan and the artist’s rendering of the new marina building proposal from Chefs International:

Looking at the Proposed Baker’s Wharfside Belmar, The new “downsized”
offering fits Chef International’s new downsizing philosophy. Year’s ago they closed Baker’s Lobsterr Shanty in Toms River. In late October of this year they closed the very successful Lobster Shanty in Vero Beach. Basically a bar with food modeled after their Baker’s Bar & Grill in Toms River it will have the
Baker’s brand. Trip Advisor reviews online of Baker’s Bar & Grill reveal Baker’s Belmar’s possible status.
Legally, I hope that the long agreement with Chef International works out because it is hard to sue a P.O. Box for a Company that is a d.b.a. of an LLC that is a subsidery of Edison family owned Lombardi Realty. The good news, is Belmar owns the real estate and it will be easier to rent a small space than Chef’s more successful larger restaurants.

That guy Sonnenfeld, sucks, Belmar school art students could draw a classier building. This is nothing more than a nightclub, I gotta watch the video.

Went on Trip Advisor- Baker’s Wharfside-Bar & Grille -Toms River-Can’t wait!
Thank God we have: Mr. Shrimp, Kleins and for sports bars, The Boat House.
Cannot really blame Chef’s Int. How to make money the other 8 months of the year. Does seem like onsite management varies greatly in all their NJ bar/restaurants based on reviews. I lived near the original Jack Bakers’s Lobster Shanty on Rt. 33
It ended badly but not as bad as their Baker’s American Bar & Grill replacement. Went there before moving to Belmar. The only worse than the food was the service.

That’s pathetic! It should be criminal if Mayor Doherty uses his power as the marina’s redevelopment czar to allow this project to go forward with this “scaled-down” eyesore of a building. Do the public some real good and go out and allow the general public to bid on the use and development of this property.
